Do you have any links to back up the statement that these monitors will not work with HD content? As I am in the market for a 2405 or 2005 in the near future and would like to know if this is true.

What Intelia is referring to is the fact that the DVI is not HDCP. It doesn't mean they won't work with HD, it just has to be HD from your comptuer, not HD from another source.

Its not just bigger, its better. Component input.. no back light bleeding, faster response time, etc. 4" may not sound like a lot, but it is. Its a much bigger LCD.

Every LCD could potentially have back light bleeding, in fact they almost all do just varying degrees. But yes it IS bigger and 4" is quite significant, however you will NEVER be able to run newer games at the native rez unless you have an extreme rig, people never mention that.

Not true, you don't have to have that great a rig to run a 2005. Check my sig and replace the 7800GTX with an x800xl(which is what used to be in there) and it ran everything beautifully.

2405 != 2005.

And I agree with Rollo. Maybe if you designed and built the monitor yourself, it could be your "newborn child" of the fruits of your labour for the past X years/months, but I fail to see where swiping a credit card makes you a Daddy. Unless you hit up one of those cheap brothels and didn't bag your tool. :p

The lost art of tongue-in-cheek commentary has been forgotten, and apparently every statement made on a message board is considered a literal one to some people...

Enjoy your LCD's guys :) .

I got in on the last $381 Dell deal and finally a month later I am back home to use the damn thing. And I agree, it is one of the finest material possessions I have. It's worth 50% of value of my computer and about 20% of my car. Hahahha! :)

What? They work fine in HD, at least mine does. I have it hooked up via component from my Comcast HD box. $1400? I think its MSRP is $1200, and with deals you can get it below $900. Paying $1400 is just dumb. I would be mad too if I wasnt smart enough to get it lower priced than that.

LOL

I've been known to make some pretty crass comments about enjoyment of possessions as well, the "newborn" thing probably just got to me because parents of young kids tend to be oversensitive about kids.

Mine's five now, hopefully I'm mellowing.

I got "2405envy", thats a fruedian e-age term that replaced "penisenvy" here in TX. I plan to get one soon. I got 6 kids 2 in college and a granddaughter;)

New computer hardware is trivial compared to children/family, but so is just about everything else, enjoy. but dont be resentful of others who arent so impressed [im not] and
