How many are coming to the US from Western Europe or Scandinavia? (you would have to be stupid to do so IMO)

Yes a lot of the world is "worse" then America but aren't we the "greatest" country in the world? (that's what I was taught as a child)

In many ways America is literally borderline 3rd world (especially down south) ... and I both grew up here and am fairly well-versed in World history saying this.

Yeah overall happiness is way higher Scandinavia. The fact we don't have UHC is a goddamned joke:

The average American voter is fighting tooth and nail to keep this shit sandwich.

I'm sure other countries don't have bad towns or cities either, right? It's all above the board 100% of the place, right?

Do you know what causes "bad towns and cities"? Poverty. We are the wealthiest country BY FAR. The fact that we still have poverty here means it is a choice we are all making to have it. Too worried about someone getting a rotten scrap they didn't "earn" to notice that your pockets are being picked clean by the richest people in the solar system.

Do you have a point here or just want to argue about the obvious? (if its the latter P&N is right next door)

Do you REALLY need me to say that there are crazy/stupid/evil people in every country?

FAR fewer in most then there are in America these days that's for sure.

😵

Ok, this didn't answer what I asked.

You brought up the but but, these specific area's have it bad. Which people like to use as see it's so bad over here; points to worse case while will then point at pristine picture of another country. It's not being intellectually honest.

My immediate neighborhood is very nice.

(aside from the constant noisy landscapers! 😡 )

I could walk for 10 minutes and be in a slightly sketchy area .... I could also drive for under 10 minutes and be in the straight-up hood... everywhere there are people there's both good and bad which is the "obvious" I was referring to.

My point is what does that prove? (water is also wet fyi)

...
There are answers to the question you asked. Compare that to the worst areas in your state. I didn't answer your question initially because it implies that you think if a country isn't perfect then we can't learn any lessons from it or it isn't worth it to change things here.

Also, the idea that most of Europe doesn't have similar immigration "problems" that we have here is misguided. The UK was convinced to jettison all the benefits of belonging to the EU because they were scared of immigrants. I put "problems" in quotes because immigration "problems" are mostly fictitious nonsense.

Deregulating Wall Street gave us the 2007 great recession. It gave us the great depression. So many examples where a lack of regulation has fucked us. Before things like the clean air act, the smog was crazy in multiple American cities. The list is long. Pure capitalism only exists to make profit, and will exploit humans and the environment to do so without regulations. This is ready to know if you know history.

But coming from people who see no value in getting taught any sociological related courses like English and history, what do you expect.

You brought it up, you tell me. So I guess everywhere is shit, glad we cleared that up.

I didn't imply anything. I was stating how people point to bad areas, but point to another country and make it seem like a utopia. But as I stated, previously, this is an example of a country I couldn't think of that I'm sure may be better.

*Countries, plural. You'd be amazed by the overnight transformation the US would see just by going to UHC, but +60% of Americans are afraid of the "socialism monster" so we just keep fucking ourselves.

It would be nice to have a better health care system for sure, right now we seem to have the worst of both systems.

And where does this mythical "well-regulated" capitalism actually exist?

😕

And to the a$$-clown who thinks it's funny that somebody who grew up loving America and actually believing the lies we were sold about "freedom" and "rights" being important is now completely DISGUSTED with the country and think's it's swirling in the bowl ... be advised that when the $hit hit's the fan your stupid a$$ will be getting splattered too.

Also be advised that I'm FAR from alone.

Were still waiting on you to move to Canada like you and countless other people like you said that you would at the previous elections.

Seriously bud, you're taking a time-warp back into the riddled mind of a teenager with those types of thoughts.

So "the greatest country in the world" is now reduced to "could be worse"??

:astonished:

Say what you will about "baby-boomers", at least we (really "they" I'm a "boomer" by 1 year!) did something about Vietnam back in the late 1960's.... 2022 America is too brain-washed to give a crap.

Go find your utopia.

Your non-existent communist manifesto... utopia of hopes, dreams, tears, blood, and sweat.

I never said I was "moving to Canada" back then although these days I'd do it in a flash if not for my family here. (no joke)

If you think the majority of Americans on left or right are pleased with the way things are going in this country then I want some of whatever you're smoking.

I don't expect America to fold completely but I do expect some real trouble over the next few years and everyone in our country will suffer for it.... that makes ME sad.

Then GO dude. Quit complaining, and enjoy your taxes buttercup.

Just because a country doesn't have YOUR ideal, doesn't mean it doesn't have other people's ideal.

You're living in a life of utopia that doesn't exist, where YOU have all the CORRECT ideas, and everyone else is wrong - without ever considering that you are wrong.
