Hmmmm...how about your house? I heard you were connected to 9/11 and have a bio weapons lab in your basement. A couple 2,000 "bunker busters" should take care of you in short order.

Yes...campus isn't as nice but that's because we keep getting shafted by the State for the 'glory' of UK (heck, I used to be a big UK fan and knew even then UofL usually got slighted).

But, seems Uofl 0wnz j00! :p

and if Bush wants to attack every country in the ME, then he should be impeached, and drag Cheney along with him, before they cause irreparable damage. I think we have our hands full now, and we need to deal with North Korea.

People keep hyping up North Korea.... I don't see much of a problem there. They are just raising a stink because they want economic aid. They're not about to fight us, they're bluffing- trying to get us to the bargaining table.

If you followed the trend lately, you'd see that they aren't really showing aggression to us, they're just talking the talk so we give in to their desires.

The super simplified version of the timeline goes like this-

1.North Korea is in desperate need of money and electricity and wants to come clean, they admit they had a secret weapons program after they publicly said they stopped and says they're clean now and need aid from the US (they want money and the nuclear reactor Bill Clinton promised them in 1994)
2. US seems to get pissed at this, declines to help. (they probably knew about this secret program which might explain why NK never got the reactor)
3.North Korea asks the US to sign a non-aggression treaty so they can spend their money on stuff they need instead of their military.
4. US rejects the request.
5 NK says they're going to kick out nuclear inspectors if the US doesn't come to the bargaining table
6. US rejects the request to bargain,
7. NK kicks out inspectors, says they're going to restart their Soviet era reactor if the US doesn't have direct talks with them
8. US rejects requests to talk
9. NK restarts reactor and says they can start producing plutonium for bombs soon, and mentions that they're still up for direct negotiations
10. US ignores their threat, refuses to directly negotiate
11. NK says they may pull out of armistice ending the Korean War and says "by the way, we're still up for negotiations"
12. US ignores threat and offer of negotiation.

Basically North Korea just wants the US to come to the bargaining table so we can give them money. They don't want to engage us in a war. They don't have the money to. That's why they asked us to sign a non-aggression pact in the first place.

The US knows what's up and isn't about to be bribed. We know there's not a real threat, and we know they're bluffing.

By the way, I see only 2 likely outcomes happening with this whole North Korean situation:

1. North Korea gives up trying to get our attention and pipes down.

2. US gives in, offers direct talks with N. Korea.

I do not see war as being one of the likely possibilities since neither side wants it and it would work against cash-strapped North Korea's favor to spend all that money.

What a concept; wasn't Bush the one saying during the debates that our military was spread too thin?

I agree, however we can always put political pressure on North Korea. I know for a fact Russia doesn't the idea of North Korea becoming a nuclear power.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned it. I'll tell you who ought to be next: Israel and Palestine. We need to bitch slap both of those people, and twist their arms near to breaking if we need to, in order to get them to the bargaining table. Aside from taking care of our new responsibility of getting Iraq back on its feet without losing the trust and cooperation of the average Iraqi in the process, the next best thing that can possibly happen in the region is to get the conflict between Israel and Palestine settled. That is decades old and a perpetual thorn in the side of US / Arab relations.

I bet the Jewish lobby in Washington will just LOVE that.

China sticks to itself. Unless you are threatening them they're not going to attack anybody. They've been an isolationist country for thousands of years, and their current military doctrine still supports that line of thinking...hardly any long range bombers or aircraft carriers, not many tools of power projection. Just short range aircraft, tons of vehicles and troops to defend their homeland, and a small nuclear deterrent force. They are not out to make any waves, they just want to guard their own borders.

I have "solid evidence" that he does.

I have solid evidence the people of Iraq love the US and President Bush and are estatic we came to help them. Got anything more important than that, or just the irrelevant opinion of those who thought this was the wrong thing to do?

Well...Syria is making some dumb moves. From the BBC Latest News:

US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld says Syria has been ignoring a warning he gave last week about giving military assistance to Iraq and that some senior Iraqis were fleeing to Syria.
I would think they'd pretty much have to expect that though even though official policy said they must warn them. They're obviously not going to go to Iran or Turkey and Jordan wouldn't probably be the best place to hideout given the somewhat ore moderate government there. Syria had to be their best bet for places to hide out.

Well maybe they should have listened when Bush told the rest of the world we would hunt down terrorists and hold accountable those who aid and abet them.... If we can prove they funneled arms over during the war we should take them right now while we are there. How can anyone say Iran is not evil, they are the birthplace of modern anti-american fundamentalism, they have harbored and supported some of the most notorious terrorist groups in recent history. Should we go after them? No way, their youth will take care of them internally, I wouldn't be suprised to see major demonstrations and political activism leading to the shifting away from the Islamic Republic to a more democratic and secular nation. Having it happen next door will only speed up this process.

And exhibit human rights atrocities, which I found absent in this article
