Nah I thought 98 was easiest to work with. XP has all the new crap that I don't need.

Are you running 98 on that rig in your sig? If so I am just going to go cry myself to sleep.

Vista will probably be worse than XP, but better than 95, but who knows.

This is so funny. When 95 came out, I was advised to wait a while because it had many bugs and Microsoft would fix it then I could buy it.

I'm still waiting.

Win 95 was so heavily advertised and publicsized that a lot of morons who didn't even own a PC waited in line to buy it.

95 was such a huge step up from 3.11 as far as useability and gaming. I remember having to manually shift memory allocation between extended and high to even get some games to run......the instructions for that were actually in most of the manuals. You would also end up having to modify some of the system files in File Manager.

My Amiga wasn't even that picky.

Looking back on it and how littered with wizards and hand-holding XP is full of, I kinda miss the cruel coldness of 3.11.

I was in elementary school, and only the teacher's computers had Windows 95. We had to use 3.1 or whatever the hell those things were. My GameBoy ran faster!

Eventually they upgraded

I didn't get Win95 until 96. I installed it onto our 486DX 100mhz. Needless to say it ran pretty slow.

Hmm...mine was pretty similar, except I think 3.11 and 3.1 were reversed, and I used 98 instead of 98SE. Then of course there were a few versions of DOS back in the day.
