Microsoft Unveils its new Windows 95....

While Microsoft expects the campaign to pay off handsomely, past high-profile product launches prove there are risks. Indeed, pricey advertising campaigns have heralded some grand and very embarrassing failures. Recall Ford Motor Co.'s Edsel, a car model that bombed so thoroughly that its very name has become a synonym for catastrophic product ideas ? and cost the company about $250 million.

I wonder if they did well?:)

I can remember being 13 coming home from school and seeing my dad trying to install it on our 486 DX2 50MhZ. It installed and ran but was quite slow. That december 24th came the new Pentium which came preloaded with win95. Win95 was badass!:-D

I remember the day well. It's the only reason I remember my mother's birthday
I made at least $100 getting dial-up working on people's Win95 boxes in the months that followed.

Win95 sucked. I waited probably a year or so after it was released before I changed over to Win95 and I only did it then because I got a copy of it for free. When Win98 came out I bought a full version the second or third day it was on store shelves. I used 98 until XP came out. I avoided WinME like the plague because it was...well, the plague of computer operating systems. Win2k is good, in fact I still use it on my laptop.

I remember hearing it in radio contests. I was like 7 and their was all this hoop-la about it. Then I went over to a friends house and they had it. I was like "this is it?". Little did I know what 95 had started.

Ouch. I can't even imagine how painful it would have been on a 386.

Youve got to be kidding me. xp/2k>all other ms os's

This man speaks the truth.

Nah I thought 98 was easiest to work with. XP has all the new crap that I don't need.

Ahh Windows 95....
It ran great on my 486-DX4-100 and then even better on the K6-166 I replaced it with.
Those were the days.
