You covered a good bit, thank you.

Just to touch the subject of them holding on to your money as long as they can is remember they hold money that belongs to you up to an insane amount of 21 days but yet draft anything from your account instantly.

Tell me how that is responsible?

The system is corrupt as corrupt can get thanks to Bush putting this situation in place on behalf of the evil banks.

Yes I said evil, there is no other way to describe such a corrupt system.

If Palin can say Obama is evil I can call the Republicans evil.

So Bush personally designed the fee structures imposed by banks and taught them how to leverage the system for their benefit?

Yes he did when he signed "Check 21". Look it up bright boy.

Please provide a link to the portions of that law specifically dealing with bank fees.

Yes they do through nefarious computer programming.

Try reading, it's fundamental

Are you claiming, then, that banks are using "nefarious" programming to secretly remove money from your account to cause it to overdraft?

Read all the material on the subject.

Yes they do.

Link from a reputable source?

My beef is they don't really give you a choice, at least not at my bank.

You should have the option to just have overdraft transactions be denied, outright, and they shouldn't charge you anything. Instead of processing the transaction so they can then hit you with multiple fees.

I had a huge problem with this when someone wrote me a bad check - my bank just kept processing all of my transactions as if nothing were wrong. It's only when I logged into my account to check my balance that I saw I was in the hole to the bank for hundreds of dollars because they kept processing my $2.23 transactions so they could then charge me another $60 in overdraft.

I was able to get some of the charges removed and I made the guy who wrote me the check pay for the remaining fees.

You made the ridiculous claim that banks are secretly removing money to cause people to overdraft. Back it up since you obviously have this literature at your fingertips.

Of course he can't and won't. Typical Dave -- act like you have all of the documentation to prove a ridiculous claim and then when called on it, run away or divert attention.

Your choice is to pick a different bank if your current bank does not provide the services you require at a cost you are willing to bear.

Isn't the free market wonderful?

You're finally right on something, you've got nothing.

Once again, you have proven that you can't back up any of your ridiculous claims with facts from reputable sources. Instead, you make bizarre claims and when questioned on them, divert attention and/or don't even bother to respond.

You made the claim -- PROVE IT. Otherwise, you are once again making stuff up.

problem is ALL banks do this. Yes you can go to a Credit union but even many of those are starting to adopt similar fees and programs.

i was with one bank that was going nuts with fees (think it was Bank of america) so i decided to switch.

I found a small local bank that is private owned and does nto have a shitload of fees (still have NSF's and play those silly games) so we stiched. But the service is awefull. i have a few threads about them.

My account is what they call a "green account" meaning i don't get stuff sent to the house and i can only write 10 checks a month And i have to do 5 electronic transfers a month. Good part is i have no fee's on local ATM's and they will reimburse me up to 10 ATM charges a month.

But they have a Teller fee if i go inside. WTF A teller fee? really? ugh

point being is that you can't escape banks with bullshit fees.

You aren't saying shit to waggy only to me because you are a jealous fan of me.

Come on by and I'll only charge you an insufficient funds fee of $35 for my autograph.

Waggy isn't making ridiculous claims and I largely agree with him. Check my other posts, where I acknowledge that banks work the system for their benefit. You, on the other hand, said that banks intentionally remove money from accounts to force an overdraft via "nefarious programming," which amounts to theft. You cannot back that up with one shred of evidence.

The above mentioned programming by waggy is nefarious.

I can't help that you have no idea what that means.

Like I said try looking outside of ATPN.

I do know what it means, but apparently you don't remember what you said. Here, allow me to refresh your memory:

BLANGHORST: Are you claiming, then, that banks are using "nefarious" programming to secretly remove money from your account to cause it to overdraft?

DMCOWEN: Yes they do.

In other words, you said they INTENTIONALLY REMOVE MONEY FROM YOUR ACCOUNT to make it overdraft. That is NOT what waggy said.

Funny Dave, I have a Credit Union of Colorado, ING Orange and a BBVA Compass account and all of my numbers have all added up every single year. No secret conspiracy program removing my money little by little like you imply.

I seriously think you suffer from paranoia, you have all the symptoms (everyone out to get you, organizations all conspiring)

I have worked for the government in the past, if you think those people are smart enough to conspire then you are the one who is the fool. They couldn't handle 3rd grade math let alone an actual conspiracy.

You got lucky.

I used Wells Fargo when I was in Denver. After I left the state I left $500 in an account there.

6 months later they took all the money saying they had a $125 inactivity fee per month.

They even had the gall to demand another $48 to close the account.

Banks steal, period.
