ok - I rated myself a 10..here is why

I finished school with either A* or A at GCSE
I finished college with every module being a distinction
I blitzed the Mensa test and have an officially recorded IQ of 171
I passed Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCDA all with 98% (or better)
I passed MCSA, MCSE (and subsequent MCITP recertifications) with 97% (or better)
I graduated Imperial university with a 1st Degree with honours for Computer Science and Networking
I graduated Oxford university with a Masters degree in Computer Science
I was offered Doctoral sponsorship by Cambridge and Oxford University
My current job is paying a salary of £56k a year (UK median Salary is £23k so I make more than double).

All of this by the ripe age of 27

And yet you gave yourself the lowest possible score. :p

It looks like the OP has been changing the post. Still, the only way to win is not to play. :whiste:

I work harder, not smarter! Oh wait.

Yeah working at home the last... ummm... 7(?) years has deteriorated my willingness to use my noggin at all hours of the year.

Crap, my next employer is going to find this post, aren't they?

Serious question though - being smart requires constant "practice" does it not?

5. Pretty average, but on the better half of the curve. I'd vote 4.5 if it was an option.

People I know in real life would probably rate me a 3 or higher, but that's because most people don't put any value into learning (some pre-med types may put a lot of time/"effort" in, but you can tell it's wasted on them) and never ask themselves questions. Performance-wise I'm probably on the higher end (80th percentile both sections SAT, 80-ish GRE (93rd writing, 85th reading, 70th analytical), 3.75 B.S. GPA with some honors) but nothing unattainable for the average guy with no life. As a child I also had a thing for patterns and memorization of unimportant information which made people think I was particularly gifted in some way, and I got into programs like GATE and such, but I think I just grew mentally faster than the average child because those advantages have faded pretty drastically by today.

I'm nothing amazing. From all the people I've met and work with I'm probably average or slightly above average imo. One skill I have though is being very calm under pressure. A lot of people comment on that.
