The network says its unsecure, so I am assuming I shouldn't bank accounts and such. Is this correct? Could I check yahoo email and be allright?

They probably say that to cover their @ss in the event that some dumb@ass leaves his C: drive shared over the network and gets everything screwed up.

That just means the data frames themselves aren't encrypted. However, if you have an SSL connection with an ecommerce site or a bank, the data is still encrypted, just not the encapsulating frames.

I still wouldn't do it, but then I'm paranoid.

Fine - ignore all implications of logic

The only thing you really don't want to do is look at email and such in an insecure manner. If you use webmail, make sure you go to the encrypted version of the site.

Exactly. Most applications that truly require security (banks, CCs, etc) will have encryption at one of the higher layers anyways. If you check sensitive emails it's not a good idea to do it through an unencrypted wireless protection since I don't think that POP, IMAP, and SMTP use any form of encryption. Webmail is the same.

The easiest solution is to connect through your office via VPN over the wireless connection. This way all your communications are secure.

do everything.

download, download, and download more.

stream poon.

watch poon.

eat poon.

order poon.

uh. call the bank? 🙂

Don't go on ATOT and post. They probably will steal your account and post stupid topics. It has already happened to multiple people on this forum.
