I saw these at Lowes a year or two back, and from a quick inspection they looked pretty good. At the time, however, apparently Jenn Air had licensed out their name to some random company in China to build their grills, and people were REALLY pissed about it when they tried to get parts or support etc. I was right on the verge of buying one but chickened out.

Now, I don't know if that changed, or if the build quality has changed since then - like I said, I gave them a decent look and thought they looked alright. But I'll be honestly interested to hear your opinions after a while. At the time I couldn't tell if the complaints were legit, or if it was just people being grumpy.

For the record, I bought one of the $400 Char Broil all stainless ones (also Lowes) and while I don't have any specific problems, I'm not especially happy with it either. So I'm not trying to rain on your parade - just curious about the grill.

My biggest complaints on mine are that the finish on the grill, (after 6 months of being outside), is fairly pitted and looks "porous", and the gas valves just aren't smooth when operating them - nor does it seem to get as hot as I would really like it to.

Nexgrill makes this Jennair grill. I was thinking it was made in Vermont, but it appears it's made in China.
I have absolutely no bitch about the quality of the grill. It's the heaviest, best constructed grill I could find locally.
I checked out the CharBroils. The build wasn't as heavy, although they were $150-250 cheaper.
I went for the Jennair. If it last me 6 years or more, I'm money ahead.
I've been paying 250-ish for sears grills that last 2 years, need $100 in parts along the way, and fall apart under their own weight.
So far so good with this one.

It's some kind of funky marinated thing that my inlaws serve at their restaurant. They're frozen/prepackaged.
They taste fabulous and melt in your mouth.
They look like hell. They're all black. That's why they call them "Black Diamond Steaks".
I get them a case at a time. They're nice in a pinch but can't compare to a fresh marinated Delmonico.
