OMG.....I must say, the beginning of this game give no clue as to how good it gets. The susepnse and the action are so good that they kept me playing all day.


In the past only one of my friends had it and I only had a chance to play for like 3 mins or so after things "go wrong" and now, I was taken a back at how good it got. So far I'm like 2 levelsaway from the end.

REALLY nice game. In fact I am enjoying it a little more than HL2😛

Without cheats I could never get past that 3 headed dragon thing...

Where you gotta fry it with the rocket? you had to use the grenades to distract it (it likes loud noises), and then run!

It's actually quite easy. Lob a nade. Jump down. Lob a nade. Jump down. Wash, rinse, repeat.
 
so all the hoopla about the release of half life 2 never put the idea in your head that the cult like following must be due to an almost legendary game that came before it?

heh. I heard it was good, but having played only 3minutes out of it gave me no reason not to shun or ignore it.

 
I hope you're playing the Steam version, it looks better. Not a lot better but it's noticeable.

Yep. Source is really quite nice. most of the changes are subtle such as the water and usch and in the end I like it,

The originally packaged Half Life is exactly the same as Steam's Half Life. In fact, even Half Life Source is exactly the same as far as skins/textures go with the exception of water. I played it for a few minutes yesterday.
 
What's cool is there's a group who is gonna re-do HL1 on source with updated models, maps, and textures. It'll be basically like HL2, but the game will be HL1. I'll buy that too when it comes out 🙂
