Link supporting my claim

The plan is to remake HL1 completely from scratch, rebuilding and improving on everything. Xen will be completely biomechanical and the other locations will be familiar but they'll be made more realistic. It wont be a simple change textures and models - every single bit of it will be remade to the best of Source's abilities.

I plan to go through it tonight and just levelskip to the end, because I never finished it. I've already beaten HL2 and one of my friends said some of my questions might be answered by watching the end of HL1.

HL2 end = me pounding my head endlessly against a wall for beating the game so soon after it came out

Well knowing that HL: Source is the same game basically will save me some money at least. I was going to get Silver Edition HL2 just for HL: Source, but now I can just get the bronze. I thought the whole game was redone in Source like Counter Strike was.

you get a lot more than just HL Source tho. I had never played Opposing Force before, and I'm looking forward to DoD Source.

they aren't, I'm just saying that the Silver package is a good deal because it includes all those games.
 
and you also get dod:source with silver, which seeing that css rocks, they are probably going to do a great job on dod:s
 
After you've finished HL1, the expansions (Opposing Force and Blue Shift) are worth playing through. They're fun, but don't live up to the original. Opposing Force lets you see just how crappy Freeman's weapons actually were.
