It really irks me how unpatriotic many people are. I'm tired of hearing bulldust spewed such as "Bush and his administration killed thousands of people," and "We're only in Iraq for the oil." That's absolute CRAP. We're in Iraq to destroy a regime that threatened the security of the United States. Even if Saddam wasn't directly responsible for the attacks, he was still indirectly involved. The Iraqi government harbored many terrorists and supported their extremist movements.

Now we see the free world criticizing the fight for freedom. You can not look me in the eye and tell me Iraq was better of with Hussein in power. It is a known fact that he murdered hundreds of thousands of people. And it wasn't merely lining up people for a gunshot to the head. He tortured and mutilated thousands. He also used inhumane biological weapons to wipe out populations. The guy is a malevolent SOB that deserves to be treated like a rat.

I encourage those of you criticizing the GOP to stop fighting for a political agenda. Whether you hate Bush or not, look past that and band together as Americans fighting for the freedom that we so greatly enjoy.

You're an idiot. WWYBYWB?

Bigger wow... There are a bunch of conspiracy nuts on this board. If you people are anti-America, why are you still here?

Anti-government, anti-neocon, etc does not equal anti-american...in fact, I would argue that those things are about as American as you can get. It's blind patriotism, elitism, etc which are anti-american.

As to why we stay, to fight to make this nation as great as it can be...to help realize the potential of a dream which began over two-hundred years ago.

Actually, that's NOT why we're in Iraq, Afghanistan yes, but not Iraq. We went to Iraq because we believed (at the time) that Saddam had WMDs. It was not until after we were there that the Bush Administration officially released information which pointed to Saddam harboring terrorists. There was no intelligence proving this (along with the WMD 'intelligence'), so really Iraq has nothing to do with 9/11, besides the fact that Iraq is in the middle of the area of the earth which produces the most amount of terrorists. We had much more intelligence pointing to Iran harboring terrorists, but Iraq was a much better political fit. If America is going to act as the World Police, then Darfur and Iran should have been 'liberated' a long time ago. Isn't it a shame those countries don't have any oil?.....;)

Sometime soon, in the near future, Americans, and the entire World's population, will look back on this time in our shared history and shake their heads. They will marvel at the master manipulation so many have succumb to.

Regardless of whether the Bush government had sufficient knowledge of the events surrounding 9/11, regardless of how they chose to act on that intelligence; the fact remains: 9/11 was the catalyst the neo-cons needed to propel their agenda into full-throttle.

American foreign policy, your freedoms, the fates of thousands upon thousands of innocents is dictated by the desire of these people to see their narrow-minded world view realized. They will only stop once America is a unilateral superpower and American interests, at home and abroad, are secure. These interests will be secured through fear and intimidation.

The Iraq war isn't just about oil; it's about their concept of the American way of life. Invading sovereign countries is but a means to an end.

I definitely think there was some sort of conspiracy. I mean just watch videos of the tower collapsing and it's almost as clear as day there were explosives placed inside. I just say that Bush wasn't the conspirator, but rather other government officials. But then again, who am I to know?

qft. americans have become SOOOO lazy and self-gratifyingly greedy that we'd rather not deal with differing opinions, values, ethnicities, tragedies, cultures, or governments. we say, "fvck it... let's just make everyone like we are so i can be happier," and use our companies to do it. THAT'S why everyone in the world hates us... it's the americanization and raping of other historical, beautiful cultures that we do.

i know many of you bleeding heart "patriots" may disagree with me, but that's fine. i don't really care. i honestly love and embrace diversity and you can't get more american than that.

I see what you mean when you say this. Even though I disagree with you, I still respect your opinion. I don't want to make enemies because of a strong ideological difference. I hope you understand what I mean :).

The thing is, you would have had no idea that the towers were fated to collapse. Only a very few structural engineers saw it coming. Are you a structural engineer?

BTW, I know of one architect who immediately said that the first tower hit was at risk of collapsing due to the heat of the burning jet fuel. He was teaching a university class and when they got word he turned on a TV and made that comment before the second plane hit. I assume that there are a good number of people who realized this, though I don't think any of the first responders got the info.

Rough way to die. Could've been worse though - fire or drowning. Not such a bad way to die in the big picture. And young men? He looked like he was at least 45 ish?

Isn't this more painful than the other ways you mentioned?

Whatever the case, it is horrible.

I don't think they had that much time. And I doubt that's the last things they thought about.

I don't think they had that much time. And I doubt that's the last things they thought about.

it would actually be virtually impossible. whenever your sympathetic nervous system kicks in for the fight or flight response, you lose your boner. adrenaline is like nature's castrator. it's because whenever our caveman ancestors were getting busy with their women in caves, if a saber-toothed tiger hops into the cave, you don't want to still be sitting there having sex if you're gonna need to fight.

that's why you lose your boner whenever you're beating off to pron and someone knocks on the door.
