Ok, my girlfriend just commented that in some places in Europe it is illegal to discipline a child by hitting. Can anyone confirm?

Ahaha, who cares. They are fvcking themselves over with those laws. I want to see how their future generation turns out.

Yea, because hitting a kid for punching someone definately teaches them that hitting is wrong. Any parent that has to resort to physical force to discipline a child is not a very good parent. Just my opinion.

If he threw my shoe in that pond, I would of thrown him in there and told him to bring me back my shoe.

Eh,... heh.

If I had pulled that crap with my dad, I'd have been black and blue all over.

Dude..no doubt..even worse if I had ever hit my mom. Holy sh!t..he acually laid a hand on his mom and continued to spit in her face. I believe my parents wouldve put me really messed me up.

fight hitting with hitting, it really works great:roll:

Yes. It does. Matching force with force is very effective in stopping senseless attacks like this.

The kid only does it because he KNOWS he will face no retaliation for it. Hell, the parents aren't even restraining him.

You don't use force out of anger, but only to send a message that senseless violence WILL be delt with in a manner that the child UNDERSTANDS. And at this point, the ONLY thing that kid is going to understand is pain.

Once the kid is under control, you can THEN, and ONLY then reason with him and teach him why his actions were out of line.

Until then, HE controls his parents.

When he was sitting with his brother at the TV, he said "I hate Papa". I got some other bits and pieces, but thats all.

Of course he hates his papa. His papa is a fscking pussy.

I'd beat the hell out of that kid, if it was mine. He wouldn't even think about raising a hand back at me, ever. But, I would never raise the kid to be so disrespectful in the first place.

Yeah, I know..I just wish my german was better.

Spitting in Mom's face should have earned an immediate slap in the face.
A little sense on Mom's part was also in order. You don't keep your head in there and let a kid repeatedly spit in your face. That's sheer stupidity and only reinforces that spitting in people's faces is okay.
I'm no advocate of hitting kids. Hitting only teaches them that hitting is okay.
If a child hits, the proper way to teach them not to hit is to explain to them that it's a two way street. If the child hits again, they get lit up.
It's not brain surgery.
I've had to smack each of my kids on the ass once in their lives. I didn't hurt either one. I did shock them. It's never been an issue since.

True, hitting teaches kids that hitting is okay.
Beating sh1t out of kids teaches that hitting is NOT okay.

wow that kid is fvcked up. He just needs some  and a :cookie:

Then he will understand that all is well in life.

I agree with Amused.

When the kid was slapping his dad, a nice full handed slap across the face would have been in order.

Kid obviously needs discipline.

Spoken like someone who hasn't raised kids....😀

I'll let you borrow my 6 and 8 year old and see if you change your mind.....
