No statements to the press no condolences to the family, nothing. But today a white kid goes to school and shoots up the place and he's making condolences and stands against this kind of behavior.

What, you wanted him to come out and cry crocodile tears and exploit the situation for his benefit like one of the Clintons would do? It's pure politics, it was a sensitive issue so he tried to stay away from it. After all being a Republican Governor who is against AA and hate crime legislation what kind of reception would a statement of apology have gotten.

one of the grad schools at univ of mich rates applicants on a 200 point scale, and they add 20 points for simply being a minority, this is fact. this has nothing to do with enrollment numbers, this has to do with whats right and whats wrong. but if you wanna believe that the college application process is unfair to minorities simply because so few minorities get accepted then go ahead

After reading AmdemAll's first post last night, I was so pissed that I had dissected every statement and wrote a long message countering such sillyness. For better or for worse , I got a BSOD before it posted. Thankfully, I've had some time to simmer down.

So I can stay on to original topic of the thread: I have no problem with anyone adopting a highway for the **intended** purposes of such a program. Going beyond that is a different story.

Now, I am so amazed how much you guys (mostly white, I presume) care about whatever Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, or anyone else &quot;in that league&quot; has to say. Yes, these folks have their minions that hang on to every word, but I don't even give them the time of day. Some people just like to be heard. Of course, the media will keep pushing them to the forefront just to get reactions such as yours. And they are getting the attention, so they'll keep on keeping on.

But riddle me this: Is it true that the KKK *traditionally* has been displayed as a group that seeks to take/keep rights away from others (minorities)? (BTW, is such a claim valid?) If so, do the likes of Jackson and Sharpton seek to **limit** the rights of others? Unless you had the same answer to those questions, why bother trying to compare the two. Yes, the media wants you to compare the two extremes, but I'm not so sure that is the right thing to do.

I usually tend to stay away from these types of threads, so don't expect a quick response from me.

I see nothing wrong with getting their name on that sign. Biggots and morons they may be...but they still have rights. You could easily turn the tides of discussion if say, the Black Panthers wanted to have their name on that sign.

Not like the asian, latino, and black clubs are any better. I see these &quot;Asian Pride&quot; signs all around school. What do they consist of??? a bunch of rude, bratty asian kids who think they are better than anyone(sound familiar?). You don't have to speculate about such things. Just watch them, the way they act, their mannerisms, what they wear...it's not like you have to find proof that aliens really exist, they really go out of their way to be rude. I swear, sometimes I really wish I were living in the midwest.
