Are you under the impression that speed limits are for safety?

what else would they be for?

Yea, good idea.
Screw Cali out of more funding.
I mean, the state is in such great financial status right?

I just got my speeding ticket yesterday going 48 in a 35. I strongly believe that the ticket was issued unfairly (Like all people do, but really). Just signed up for it, I'll see how it goes. Thanks for the link, I don't have to go to court just yet and hopefully ever :)

I never knew or thought that the intent of issuing traffic citations was to solve state financial problems.

Here's another site with some good information for those ticketed in California. My one and only ticket was for doing 105 in a 65 zone. Fine was $382. The cop said I was lucky he wasn't throwing me in jail for wreckless driving.

I did a Trial by Declaration, and all I wrote was "I am not guilty" on my declaration. I got a "Not guilty" verdict, but am still scared shitless whenever I see a cop. I got off, but I've learned my lesson. Speed limit from now on.. :frown:

You cried didn't you? Worked for the woman who ran a red light and totaled my car. This was with 4 witness's mind you.

Courts these days are so pussified. It seems you have to be self educated. Try not to run over any kids on bikes.

I'm sorry, but I just take it personally ever since I had that accident that almost ended my life by a reckless driver. I hate people who think they own the roads, cut off anybody they like to, rush every yellow light, and speed in residential areas. Every time I turn on the news in my area somebody dies from a reckless driver.

So like others said, try not speeding. You are breaking the laws that only protect you.

Um, yes I am. How is doing 80 in a residential area with kids playing all around you safe? Or maybe 60 in a school zone?
rolleye.gif

Wanna point out where he said he was speeding in a school zone?
rolleye.gif
Or through a cluster of kids standing accross a road playing "Red Rover, Red Rover"?

Sit down, you're making us idiots look good.
rolleye.gif

Do you want to point out exactly what he meant by "safety"? Oh wait you can't, it depends on YOUR definition. Your "King of Idiots" status still remains

*takes a look at your sarcasmometer, taps it...screams "Your retort to my statement was fantastic" into the speaker*

bro, you gotta get this checked out, I got nothin...

Anyone that thinks that speed limits are there only to "protect people" is just fooling themselves as well.

Most speed limits are ridiculous, 55 in a 40 and in most cases 48 in a 30 is just as safe as going the posted speed limit unless you're disabled or something. Some of you guys need to chill out, I bet none of you go the speed limit on those 4 lane highways they post as 40 or 45...

Just because a person gets a ticket for speeding it doesn't mean that they were doin 100 through a school zone at 3 in the afternoon....that's why there is a difference between speeding and reckless driving. The person who is going 5 mph over is still classified as speeding, but it doesn't mean he was driving recklessly or endangering anyone.

48 in a 30 classifies as reckless driving. It is a 4 point ticket.

Cops in my area don't pull people over or ticket them for just 5 mph either.

Uh, read the first post, that's exactly what I did

First one was for going 55 in a 40, fine was $82 and the case was just thrown out.

Today, I got out of the big one..48 in a 30, fine was $173.50..and I was found not guilty!!! :D

If anyone ever tells you not to fight your ticket, and just own up to it, tell them to f*CK off, and if you're in California..go to
http://www.ticketassassin.com.

So you just sauntered up to the judge, looked them in the the eye, and yelled f*CK off?

And that worked?

I'll try that next time.

There's lots of stuff on ticketassassin's page. Which one did you do?

Perhaps you people should slow down.

Even if you get out of the ticket, us tax payers still have to pay your legal tab.

Okay. How can you justify using that site when they say this first thing:

Our Mission:

To make all California citizens aware of their legal right to contest unfair traffic citations.

What part of your ticket was unfair assclown? It looks to me like you knew you were speeding, you like speeding and you'll speed again. Just know that if I were writing the ticket and you took it to court, I'd be there and I'd bury your ass.

Are you under the impression that speed limits are for safety?

As a Civil Engineer working for the state of LA, I can say YES. There are several factors that are used to determine the safe driving speed.

You freakin speed demon morons should be pistol-whipped for your stupidity. I'm not talking about going 5 MPH over the limit. I'm talking about the assclowns that drive over 10 MPH. If you feel the need to drive fast, get some racing tires and go to a legal track.

What pisses me off the most is that the idiots who wreck while driving wrecklessly will sue the state and win 99% of the time....even if the driver was in the wrong!

...and for you people that brag for getting out of high dollar tickets: may your next high-speed adventure end with a close encounter with an oak tree...

If a cop hears your tires squeal from underneath your car while taking off, even though you may not pass the speed limit, he can still hand you a careless driving ticket. Which is 3 points towards your license. I'm not saying he did that, but just to give you a overall consensus that doing 18 mph over a 30 mph zone isn't much better.

I don't get why somone would be acting so high and mighty when he shouldn't be in court in the first place!

Nice you are encouraging people to speed, and you live in my town that makes me feel very safe.
You sir are a Smacktard.

I got a ticket a few years back for running a red light (it turned yellow as I entered the middle of the intersection). The cop was this short red headed opie looking prick who had a hard on for me. He gave me a ticket for $280.

Two days after the ticket I had my brakes replaced.

The day of the court hearing I went with paperwork in hand. When I got there and spoke with others that recieved tickets from the same cop we all realized everyone's fine was $280. Regardless of how minor the infraction. It was clear that this guy was a big SOB.

I just prayed that I didn't get called up first because I wanted to see what kind of mood the judge was in. As luck would have it, I was called up first. He asked how I pleaded, I said "not guilty". He asked why, and I told him that A)The light turned yellow as I was in the intersection, and B)My brakes were an issue. He asked to see the reair bill for the brakes. I handed it to him and he said "You're good to go." then looked at the cop and made him hand me back my paperwork. That cops face was blood red, I think he wanted to shoot me, I just smiled and left.

As I did the other "offenders" with tickets from him actually clapped. Man that was a good day!

I'm still thinking
1) Syringer is a tard
2) TicketAssassin = Suck

you people are SPEEDING. you KNOW you are breaking the rules. will getting there a little bit faster save you money, time, energy, or anything? NO. there is no (valid) motivation to speed for you, yet you still do it, because you are an indignant fool with a bloated impression of his own importance. it's people like you, who break the rules, because they think "noone will get hurt", who create the problems that suck the money out of the legal system designed to uphold justice.
you are not upholding justice when you rebuke a ticket which you EARNED, by merit of your SPEEDING. you are hindering it, and also making a fool of yourself, in my eyes, and in others.

as for MisterJackson, I can see his point, but you, Syringer. no. you're just a fool, and a danger to society. I hope your car is impounded and you are sent to a Federal Pound Me In The Ass Prison.

I thought they were for revenue generating.

Correct me if I am wrong
