Also consider the fact that you can't see shit underwater in lakes like the video depicts. Not to mention turbidity in the ocean would greatly limit the usefulness of being able to dive more than a few feet.

About 5 feet for brief durations but generally they go just a few feet below the surface in order to keep the snorkel above the water
Only 5 feet MAX? Get back to me when they can to 20-30 feet with no problem. (deeper would be better.)
It would need to be electrically powered and the price would probably quadruple.

Blue water secchi turbidity is very low. Of course you would not be out in blue water unless launched from a "mother ship". Sounds like a tool for piracy. :Q Lack of white light becomes the biggest inhibitor at increasing depths.
