i keep looking at the posted on date hoping it will change to 10 years ago so this thread can be relevant.
Win+R works on all 32/64 bit versions of Windows.
Except that without indexing/searching you have to know the actual executable filename when using the standard run prompt...assuming it's in your PATH.
That POS software? Hell no!This. If you're still on XP, install google desktop. Problem solved.
I use it for almost everything. It works for any executable that exists under Program Files (...and your PATH folders).
The only thing I ever had a problem with is older versions of Google Chrome (because of the EXE location), and even that works fine now.
I use most of these every day at work:
. (opens the user folder)
cmd
notepad
mstsc (Remote Desktop Client = "Microsoft Terminal Services Client")
mstsc /v:[ip-or-hostname]
shutdown -r -t 0
rstrui (System Restore User Interface)
chrome [webaddress]
chrome -incognito [webaddress]
firefox [webaddress]
iexplore webaddress
iexplore -extoff
mailto:[emailaddress]
outlook
outlook /safe
winword
msimn (Outlook Express = "Microsoft Internet Mail & News")
thunderbird
winmail
wlmail
excel
