I'm dropping off a game cube game at our local family video store. I'm trying to pull back onto mainstreet(our town has the longest "main street" in the world...) well the light is red, so traffic is stopped in front of me. Well I notice this late 80ish buick (88?) is not slowing down for the traffic in front of it, and subsequently slams (doing 30+) into a chevy malibu, which flies about 15 feet into the chevy cavalier in front of it. No further hits. Anyways, the girl in the third car is screaming bloody murder and her b/f gets out and rushes to her side and immediately starts screaming for help....

I call 911. I tell them the location and when they asked if anybody was hurt, I was unfortunately able to just say, yes, listen, and then hold the phone out the window so they could hear the girl screaming.

Anyways, something was telling me to stay in the car, and luckily I did. The responsible driver in the buick decided to just drive around the accident and take off! The people who got hit obviously needed to stick around... So i took off after the guy, and had to follow him for about a mile. I was flashing my lights at him and had my hazards on, and he just wouldnt stop.... Eventually a cop caught up and pulled along side of him and signaled to him to pull over and he wouldnt. Then another cop shows up and gets in front of him and they eventually force him to pull over. Well im kinda watching as the guy decides to reverse and try and get around the cops so I had to pull behind him and block him in.

Well we led the guy back to the accident, the cops took my statement and I went home. While I was giving my statement, i found out that the girl that was screaming was pregnant, and her face was really bloody, I dont know how it happened.....

This reminds me of the old guy in that market that killed a bunch of people. BTW, yes the driver was just really really old, not drunk

Wow, an old guy! I would have expected him to be a punk ready to bust a cap, if he had one.

I chased a drunk driver for 33 miles in Florida one night. Cops never could find him even though we were on the same road for a hour. This fvcker kept running off into the median and onto the shoulder. I mean he was uber trashed, and I was seriously worried he was going to kill someone.

Ohmygoodness... that's horrible. :( Hopefully the girl didn't have a miscarriage... talk about trauma. :|

Good for you for doing what you did. Very commendable... that guy deserves to be locked up. Why the heck wouldn't he stop, especially when the cops were there? Geezus...

Well, a doctor or somebody should sign off on a patient's mental and physical fitness to have a license after say, 75-80 years old, but it wouldn't be fair or necessary to ban everyone past a certain age.

Belleville, IL has the longest street named "Main Street" Its a long and narrow town built around this street. Population of about 60,000. Granted, there are obviously streets longer, just none named Main Street.

Belleville is home to tennis star Jimmy Connors, the guy from Quantam Leap (lead actor) Scott wolf from Party of 5, and some others.....

Wow...so was the old guy trying to actually escape from the cops and the accident, or do you think he was just scared and didn't know what to do?

I agree that old farts should be require to pass some sort of evaluation or test. But to have a doctor sign for the well being of an elder person, think of the consequences, lawsuits against doctors, it's already bad enough for them.

Good going!

You deserve a pat on the back for getting that bastard. That guy really deserves to sit in the slammer for that. No getting away from the Techboyinator.
