Lifer
He he he ........... Five guys is opening at least 2 stores in Vancouver area 🙂

Now only if In & Out would come up here 🙂

Cheers,

Dam, we don't have either one here in WI. I think they need to concentrate more on expanding throughout the US before they start crossing international borders!

Went to one last year, the burger and fries were very greasy, soaking though the paper underneath. Maybe i just went on a bad day, wasn't impressed.

You mean you don't have a local restaurant that makes killer burgers? I have one near me and it's the same age as me...

Please tell a fellow Vancouverite where specifically they are! 🙂

The 2 locations that I know of will be at Thunderbird Village Shopping Plaza (200th st Exit) Langley and in Park Royal Mall in West Vancouver.

I only knew of the Langley location until I saw a job ad for the West Vancouver location.

It will be interesting to see if they provide the same amount of food portions as they did in the store I went to in Renton WA. 🙂

Cheers,
Aquaman

Congrats, now Canada too has 4th-rate, overpriced fast food.

We've had for a while. It's called Boston Pizza.

Never heard of this place, then again I haven't really been to the US in years. Wikipedia says it originated in Washington DC so I guess I'll ask my gf about it.

It's funny, when I went to Canada I saw mainly McDonald's restaurants. In fact, there was some super deluxe two-story McDonald's that was open 24 hours and had a large fire pit going on the outside.

I think they need some more fast food restaurants so they don't have to get stuck with McDonald's. 🙂

Really? Maybe you just weren't looking? We've got plenty of Burger Kings, Wendy's, Kegs, Dairy Queens, Chilis, Subways, Quiznos and many others. If you want quality burger stands we also have a number of fat-burgers and Vera's burger stands. And of course ma and pa burger shops.

Tim Hortons is the dominant fast food restaurant in Canada. They're EVERYWHERE! They mostly serve sandwiches, soup, coffee, doughnuts, and baked goods. It consistent outperforms McD's sales. Tim's is like a religion here. I'm not a fan though. Wendy's are fairly common since they used to own Tims. You'd often see both paired in the same building.

Harvey's is a Canadian owned burger joint. Tons of them around. They were voted the best fast food burger at one point. Not so much anymore.

New York Fries is a french fry stand up here. Pretty good. Odd name since it is wholly Canadian owned and has never operated in New York City.

Mr. Sub is our answer to Subway. Subway has better bread though IMO.

Nando's is one of my favourite fast food places. Not many locations though. They serve spicy Portuguese style bbq chicken.

Other places are A&W, Burger King, Licks... And of course you're not an Ontarian if you haven't eaten at world famous Webbers Burgers on Hwy 11 near Orillia.

Tims is MUCH bigger out east that here out west, though you do see them. I'll 2nd the love of Nando's and neat there aren't many of them.

I'm surprised that New York fries is Canadian, always thought they were American. Good fries!
