You left the sh*t on your doorstep??? You deserve to get that sh*t stolen. That was stupid. Very stupid. Send the sh*t to a UPS or Fed Ex drop box.

I mean look at his comprehension skills....Where in the he11 does one pull this shite out of the air...

I think he thought that larry89 had left his broken CPU on the doorstep for fedex to pick up, not that fedex had left it there.

sorry about your problems though, hope that gets fixed.

Sorry dude! This thread is hilarious! LOL I'm sure you can get your money back from FedEx. But you'll laugh about this when you look back.

Where do you guys live that you can't have a package dropped off at your door step. If you live at an apartment that's one thing, but not at a house. I try to have all my deliveries left at my door and I've never had a problem. If you're actaully worried about crap getting stolen off your front porch, I'd say its time to move to a better neighborhood. Some companies like Monarch require a signature though.
Anyways if it was actaully stolen, file a police report. Then talk to Newegg and FedEx and show them the police report. They should take care of you. As a last resort, homeowners insurance will handle, but you'd likely get nothing do to the deductible.

ups, fed-ex usually just leave my packages at the doorstep without a signature. :\ there was this one time, the ups deliverer just left the package on the door steps, then rang the bell and left without waiting to see if anyone was home.

From my experience, Fed-ex will NEVER leave a package without a signed waiver. Is this your parents house ? Did they sign a waiver ?

Also, I allways watch the tracking numbers every day from fedex, since they are so fast. No one deserves to have anything stolen, BUT you need to watch out for yourself and read/research/ watch things.....

Don't blame newegg, blame it on the fedex guy. I live in a house, but the entrance is at street level, w/ a metal gate. There's nothing that shields the entrance from street view. Placing a package in front of the door is the same as putting it out in the middle of the street. Thus, UPS, FedEx, US Postal always leave a notice at the door when no one's home, or at times leave it at the neighbor's house and put that info on the notice. Except for the Postal packages which I can pickup at the post office, I always call UPS and FedEx to change the delivery location to my work place. NEVER lost a package because carelessness on my part or the delivery company's part.

most of the quality online retailers I have been delaing with of late do not....I just remembered those morons at newegg sent my 100 dollars worth of network stuff to my house and fed ex droppped it off on the porch.....Fed-ex is like clock work through our neighborhood and that is when my wife picks up my son from school....This is always an issue.....I have decided I wont buy from newegg any more becuase of this....

Not true...Newegg uses Fed ex savers and they drop and run quite frequently...they did that with a system I built for a friend...1000 dollars sitting on the porch....There is no way I could be home at that time....

BS!!!! Newegg and their policies are to blame here so now they can ante up.....

Hey look!!! We here at AT in the for/sale forums say it is the sellers responsibility to get it to the buyers hands...not the doorstep...not to the fed drop off point but in the buyers hands....Therefore it is the sellers resposibility to get delivery confirmation and insurance...not the buyer...It is not our fault newegg ships things for free. Lets hope they have insurance on the package.....

This is nothing new with Fed-ex and I am sure Newegg knows they could easily require signatures for delivery....they dont therefore it is their fault...

Very sad. I would call New Egg and tell them what happened. Unless you sign a waiver like has already been said, FedEx has no right to leave it there. In my city neither FedEx nor UPS will leave a package here unless I am home. The USPS will though and that is why I never have anything like that shipped by them. I have noticed in different areas they seem to have different rules, or maybe it's just different drivers. I have been very lucky so far in the few years I have lived in this house. If I can not be home when I know they are going to deliver, i put a note and have them take it to my neighbors house so I won't have to go all the way across town to FedEx to get it later.

You obviously have issues w/ newegg. There's no way in hell a responsible fedex delivery person would place a package on the foot steps of the recipient's when it's in plainview of the street, nor should he even if the foot steps are shielded. He can easily slap a sticky notice at the door w/ the package's tracking # and when the package will be re-delivered. His job is to deliver the package safely and signed, but it's obvious the OP's fedex guy's a POS lazy and irresponsible bastard. Newegg, nor any company have control over this. All the orders I got from newegg required signature upon delivery by fedex, so I don't how what the hell you're talking about blaming newegg for dumping the package on your door steps. Newegg didn't do the delivery, the fedex guy did.

OP should get the tracking number of the package lost, call fedex up, find out who signed for the package (if there was one) and file a complain for lost package and compensation.

I have no real issues except in my past 500-600 dollar expenses I have not purchased from them (newegg) and my packages have required signatures...

recent purchase....

network equipment.....left on doorstep (fed-ex saver) door step is visible form street and only about 15-20 feet from sidewalk...metal gate (not secured)...more decorative half height....

NEC DVD-rom xmas time....left on door step....fed ex saver

old house....

1000 dollars worth of computer parts (mid 2004)...left on doorstep....I was home...no doorbell ring....

that house was further from street...still easily visible...no fence here...

I think pretty much all fed-ex guys are lazy cause I see the same pattern at both places...

It is also not the OP place to deal with Fed-ex...If newegg didnt buy insurance and allows delivery withiout signature, its lost...Its newegg dollar lost...The OP cannot deal with fed-ex if insurance was purchased....

he should call newegg...have them find out what the he11 happened and then figure out how they are going to get him a new chip...
