OMFG!! He walled up my cat!!

So in my new house, we had a problem with a leaky jetted tub in the master bath. So the entire tub had to be pulled out meaning the granite skirt and waterproof drywall was torn out leaving a hole.

Well, the leak was fixed, the tub reset, and the guy replaced the waterproof drywall. He left for the day, saying he would come back the next to lay the granite tiles.

He leaves.

I can't find my cat!

At first, I thought he had been let out. I go outside and call his name. Nothing.

And then it hits me!. Buddy LOVES crawling into holes.

So I go upstairs and call out his name and I hear a tiny "meow." He's inside the wall!!!

I grab a hammer, and make a small, cat sized hole. Stop, and listen... nothing.

I make another hole on the other side of the tub... nothing.

I then get desperate thinking that he was somehow trapped behind the tub and I was going to have to tear apart the whole island.

So I tear out the entire side of drywall and see a hole in the floor. Suddenly, the cat's head pops up in that hole. He jumps out and jumps into my arms and wont let go of me!

Oh well, at least it was a happy ending. 🙂 I was lucky the granite wasn't set. THAT would have been expensive!

Are you gonna sue the contractor for emotional distress? It's the thing to do these days, you know.

No, but he wanted to charge me for that day's work. I said, rather firmly, "You just walled up my cat. How about I pay for the drywall and we call it even?" He agreed. 🙂

My cat got caught in the linen closet. He walked in when my mom was sorting towels and she shut the door, not noticing. He's an outside cat so we didn't worry until he hadn't eaten his food in a couple days...

I grab a towel on the morning of the third day, he walks out of the closet...😱

He looks wise like an owl... but why did he decided to go in the wall? 😕

He LOVES to crawl into holes. When the DirecTV guy was under the house, the cat crawled under there so many times I had to lock him up in a bedroom (that is now going to be the standard practice whenever I have workmen here).

Curses, beat me to it.

Yeah, cats love to hide in places. I remember our cat Cleo got stuck in my dresser a few years ago. For like 24 hours too! We'd hear these meows and stuff but nobody could find her. Finally my mom had the insight to open up my dresser -- since she liked to sleep in the middle drawer -- and the cat pops out, nuzzles mom and then runs in to use the catsand. She'd held it in the whole time! That's one helluva good cat.

Wow glad it all turned out ok. With 10 cats we have had more than our share of missing cat moments and I know how that feels. When I was a kid my parents were going through some boxes in their at that time unfinished basement which I had my bedroom in. My cat at that time was an indoor/outdoor cat and she normally came in at night but that night she didn't and I couldn't find her anywhere in the house. I wasn't too concerned then but the next morning when she still didn;t show up I was getting pretty worried especially since I was supposed to leave to go on an all day trip to Skyline Drive. As I walked around the basement calling for her I finally heard a very faint meow. It turned out that she had crawled into a ceder chest full of linens that my parent then closed the lid on not noticing her and stacked a bunch of boxes on top of it. Cats can pick the worst places to curl up for a nap in.

Holy bananas, that's awesome! Mine couldn't hold it on our way to the vet and let it all out 😱 It was a stinky ride. She was about 5 weeks old. She's been good at holding it since then.
