I agree, the Olympus web site does not have the disclaimer but the 800# person told me that this is an Epson rebate and that IT WILL BE REFUSED.

Sucks cause I just picked up a $300 c-4000 myself this afternoon.

I've just called and even asked the rebate representative to double-check and she told me buying the printer from Staples won't disqualify the $75 rebate. Maybe we need a few more people to call and post the result here.

Last year, Epson had the same type of rebate, but for $100 on qualifying digital cameras. I too was concerned about the "Staples"
issue and called. They told me that if a duplicate rebate exists on the Staples website, then you have to use the Staples form to qualify. Since there is no Staples rebate, then it is ok to get the printer from Staples. I did get my $100 and I remember it being pretty quick.

Could someone please buy the D-550 that the Fayetteville, AR store has in stock so that I can buy the C-4000? :)

if anyone needs one, I think there are a hand ful near me. Please let me know. I have a camera that SHOULD be coming form e-bay but I think I got shafted. I'm going to pick one up today, and if the e-bay deal doens't turn out, I'll be more than willing to sell it.

I got one from officemax originally for 324.29, but I used that receipt to score a better deal at staples. Let me know if someone would be interested in the c-4000 I bought at officemax.

You have one of two options. First you can do like my buddy fishbonez did :) Call up and put the D-550 on hold for Bubba Sanderson or any other name but your own. Then go back to the store and buy the C-4000 since the D-550 is now "out of stock".

John P., you don't have to hate everybody here, but you'll probably hate me. I got the last C-4000 at the Lynnwood store after trying Everett. I do want to thank the two people who had the D-550's on hold at the Lynnwood store. It's the only thing that allowed me to get the C-4000! Now I need to think about what to do with the D-550 I bought a month ago.

Or claim you want 2 cameras and buy the D-550 and the C-4000. Then promptly return the unopened D-550.

Me too.. which batteries does everyone recomend in using with this camera? I have read some about 1800mah batteries. Any particular brand better than the other?

"Maybe we need a few more people to call and post the result here."

I called too and the Epson rebate CS told me the $75 rebate would be fine with a printer purchased at Staples.

For what it's worth.

I called a 2nd time and this time the rep told me the staples purchase would be ok for rebate.

roll your dice I guess.

Anyway, picked one up@ 800-3staples for 99.99 (price match office max B&M) + a small item less 20/100 coupon=79.99 before rebate.

WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Just got my C-4000! I checked back at my store and the lady that answered said that someone had just bought their last D-550. I asked them to hold a C-4000 for me, but she said they do not do holds for "sale" products. I am only 5-10 minutes away, so I ran down there, they rang it up, and I was out of there.

The manager knew exactly what to do, I did not even have to tell them to update the price.

$325.13 out the door.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this great deal!

Suck, Suck, Suck ... both the Fountain Valley, CA store (on Brookhurst), and the Huntington Beach, CA store (on Edinger) have the D-550 still in stock.

Is this an official advertisement, 'cause I didn't see it in the flyer. How long will this promotion be good for? Maybe I can check back next week...

Well i waited to the last minute to go to OM. Well i have two local OM. First was OOS on both. The guy before me got the display model. Well i went to the other and they had none and couldnt get any, but they did have a brand new display model. So i ended up paying 299.93 tax included for c-4000. Awesome camera.

Oh and get this my I told my boss about this and sent his wife ealier to one i got the display model from. They told her that they would get a c-4000 from another store like 4hrs away and have them ship it monday and still give her the sale price and the free 64 meg card. That really surprised me. i will have to see that sale to believe it!

Also a question about the cam. what is the setting 3200x4200 mode or something close to that. Does interpolate the picture to that?

Well I waited pretty late too but got lucky. Bought the C4000 in Los Angeles (last one?). Store was out of
stock on the 64 meg and let me apply $34.99 towards a 128 meg card. I also ordered the Epson 925 printer
from Staples and they hassled me about the $50 off $200 coupon. I did finally find Staples coupon for $40 off $200 - code #76967 and bought the Epson
925 for $209.98-$75 mail in rebate=$135. Not as good as $125 but hey this is a great price for a very good printer.

Hopefully the code might help someone since you have to buy the printer today to get the rebate.

just wanted to say thanks for a killer deal.

I had to buy the last D550 at a store in Toledo, OH, then, I picked up two C-4000s. I have to return the D550 later on.

My end price on the two C-4000s and 2 64MB smartmedia was $573.72 after tax, or, $286.86 each.

The manager ringing me up was really not happy with the whole thing, and, he said that he would not take the return right after my purchase knowing that the only reason I bought the D550 was to get the 4000s. I said, fine, I'll go to another store. Needless to say, he probably won't be seeing my business again there.

Hey Sushi:
I'd PM this if you had PM turned on.

Posting codes on AT can earn you a vacation from the mods.
Better edit it out of your original post.

BTW: And please everybody...don't start flaming about the "no coupons" rule here on AT or my pointing it out...I'm just tryin to help a brother out.
