Sorry guess I should have posted which type of SM card. Yes your correct on the Viking $39.00 with $10.00 rebate. The other is a card named Edge. Looks like it is the one going for $49.00 with a $20.00 rebate. Either way they are the same price.... I couldn't really find all that much about the EDGE cards so I bought a couple of the Viking along with a 6N1 Viking reader/writer for $19.00 all from ECOST + FREE shipping. Better hurry looks like the rebate and shipping run out the 29th and 31st.

For those who scored one, you can buy the Epson printer 785EPX and get $75 back for the camera + printer combo. The Epson printer is currently on sale at Staples for $79 (AR & Instant Saving). Your net cost for the printer is an outrageous $4 :Q

hehehe😀😀😀
Time to make baby now 😀

CONFIRMED!!! As long as the D550 goes out of stock, the C-4000 becomes a replacement. I was the same person that failed the other day and got it just now. I guess I had to wait the day after the C-4000 goes out of stock.

Here's my reciept:

Olympus C-4000 $274.99 reciept

My only complaints so far is it doesn't come with rechargeable batteries and the lens is a tad slow when initializing. Other than that this is a GREAT camera with a great lens. It's near impossible to find a good quality 4 megapixel camera at this price. You can take pictures at 3200x2400 software enhanced resolution (around 7.7 megapixel), although it won't look as good but at least its an option. There's even a built in panaramic stitching in the camera. The super macro mode is excellent and will be very fun to play around with. For $275 with a free 64MB smarmedia, this is a very hot deal!

Hey everyone i am interested in buying one of these cameras, the problem is I am in canada. I had a d-550z which is a great camera, but wan;t something with more features. I can sell/ trade + cash for the c-4000 or any other 3,4 megapixel higher end camera. If someone wants to grab one for me, and say a staples epson 785epx printer, it would cost them $275. I don't need the printer and it sells for like $120 on ebay, so the camera would be $155, and i would be willing to pay like $250, that's a guarenteed $100 profit for buying and shipping me the camera, in fact i may be able to use more than one camera/ and i maybe able to pay more per camera. If anyone wants to spend like a few minutes picking up/ selling to me i would give you atleast $100 profit and i could pay some of the price upfront if i get good feedback from the person, so it's a win-win situation as you are guarenteed the money 🙂

e-mail me if interested we can talk/negotiate more, I hate living outside the us 🙁

I totally want to hop on this deal. Questions, though:
1) Is the Staples coupon you refer to a printable coupon? I have no idea how to find one of those.
2) How are you arranging to do this over the phone: do you call and place the order over the phone, or do you ask for them to hold a c-4000 for you until you get there? How do you do it?
Thanks!
Dr. G.

You walk in and ask for the 550. They are out. You say you want the substitution. They pull out the 4000. You ring it up and leave.

got the LAST c-4000 and lexar 64mb SM for $299 at OM Milpitas.
great deal and great camera. can't beat the price for all the features
you're getting. now i can sell my coolpix 950.

Ummm SWEET! My local OfficeMax was out of EVERYTHING. But I called them back and I guess the manager took my name, address and phone number for the C-4000 at 299.99 & the 64MB card. So if your store is out give that a shot.

Called all the neighborhood stores around Seattle. Each said at first that they were out of stock, then either told me they did have a couple in back or told me to order for free next day delivery online...

bleh... a good deal if you're not in Seattle.

Got the last one at my local store at Boston with 64MB memory and $30 staples coupon. 🙂 after tax, my total is $283.00. Finally used my $200 OM GC.

They also have a in-store special which has Epson 785Epx printer for $99.99. If you don't have luck with Staples.com's Epson 785Epx deal, you might want to go to local staples(selling 785 for $149.99 now) for 110% PM to $95.99, then use Staples printable coupon( $15 off $75 )to bring the total down to $80.99.

Check that. I went down in person and was able to get this deal at the downtown Seattle store. At the last minute I asked if I could get a second one. Mgr smiled and said sure.

Thanks for posting!!!

And here's a copy of my receipt if it helps anyone:

Fishlet, how do you use a $30 Staples coupon at OM? And where can I get one of those, if possible? TIA.

OM accept competetor's coupon. YMMV(Your milage may vary). My local OM won't accept OM online coupon. Some OM will.

what settings are you guys using? There is so much noise in the shadowded areas. I don't see any of this in sample images in reviews nor when I used my A40 a way back.

Hot deal!! Thanks folks!
I'm selling my C-3000Z and moving up to this 4000. I have loved my 3000 and it takes some great pictures. It's survived a motorcycle crash in Saigon, tumbling down temple steps in Cambodia and numerous other beatingss, and it still keeps coming back for more!
I hope I get the same experience from the 4000.
Thanks AT, and thanks Aar0n for picking mine up for me!

Edit: Heh, sent this thread to my dad and now he's begging me to grab one for him too!

i just picked up the last one at the torrance store. picked it up for $299 including the free 64mb memory.

also, picked up the printer from staples and it turned out pretty good since there was a $20 off $100 coupon online so net effect for the printer, i'll be getting paid $5 for taking the printer off their hands, after all the mail in rebates, that is. the coupon i used only worked online so i ordered it and it should be coming by next week. thanks again to the original poster. i've been looking for a digicam for a while and i couldnt pass up this one...

Just picked myself up one of these for $275 + tax. Thanks guys.

BTW. Is it true that smart media is pretty much dead?😕
