Oh! And Catholics! We can demean Catholics! And Protestants! And Mormons, we can demean Mormons too!

let's see.... Muslims? No, we can't demean Muslims. Jews? No, only Jews can make fun of Jews. What about black people? No, we can't demean black people. Asians? Hmmmmm, no not really.

So - the only people that we can demean is Catholics, Protestants, Mormons, and Cops?

Just want to make sure I got it straight.
 
Really isn't a whole lot you can do about being born intersexed. I really do empathize with those that have to deal with no end of absolutely scathing treatment from others in their day to day life if the comments here are any indication.

If someone made a thread demeaning Catholics, I'm sure it would be equally frowned upon as a thread demeaning Muslims or Blacks. How about, rather than trying to demean an entire group based on such a limited view of it, you demean the person themselves.

Had this thread simply be "Michael Phelps drives drunk to ugly women's bed", it would be perfectly acceptable. However, it wasn't that. It was incorrect (she didn't use to be a man) and it was attempting to demean transexuals. If someone saying "hey, that is fucking stupid" offends you so, well, all I can say is "hey, that is fucking stupid."

I think a certain percentage of the more banal and childish comments on ATOT in general and this thread in particular can be attributed to the anonymity of the Internet; but the rest is just mostly due to low/no self esteem and immaturity.

I'm sure the woman bore the brunt of a lot of demeaning comments and behavior during her formative years and beyond which gave her a strong character; an attribute just as alluring to mature men as physical beauty.
