Sold it about 2 years ago. I thought about changing my user name byt then oldsmoboat's law wouldn't have the same ring to it.

Crap! I want the engine. My Olds has the 307 but the 455 would be pretty much a bolt on.

I had a pale yellow 1971 Olds Delta 88 Royale convertible with white top and a 455.

No canyon carver or quarter miler, it was a sweet, stately 20 footer, a cruiser, and purty.

we had a olds delta 88 for year.s i loved that car.

Growing up my mom would always drive those or old Ford Crown vics.

I started out with a 3rd hand 4-door, two speed auto, `66 cutlass supreme - a poor excuse for an automobile. One of nicest for the era that I drove was a `73 2-door bonneville - another retread. It was kind of boaty but it could kinda corner (with aftermarket shocks) and it could do 120mph according to the speedo.

My parents had a 65 Cutlass F-85 when I was growing up. I drove it a few times before they got rid of it. No complaints at all about it. I still remember the big "Body BY Fisher" logo on the rocker facia.

I'm probably one of the few on here who's old enough to remember when Oldsmoboat was just another name for Oldsmobile...because they made cars that were big enough to be boats...and they handled like one. :p

I knew that and I'm 22

Question: If oldsmoboat was leaky, would you take him down into your basement and "caulk" him in every hole he had until that white stuff was all over the place?

What I mean to ask is, how do you stop leaks in an oldsmoboat?

Answer: Depends.

:D

My first car was a '64 F85 and I used to service the dies that made those door sills. Quite a progressive die. Rolls of steel came in one side and 10 stations later door sills came out the other. They cost $.17 to make and GM parts sold them for $17.

Those ten stations have been replaced by a plastic mold now. Cheaper and lighter so I guess it is what you have to do to stay competitive but they don't look near as classy.:(
