I joined a little before there were 10,000 members, so I guess I'm not technically an old timer. I was around, though, right before nowhereman and GUTB left. 🙂 In my defense, I haven't been online that long either. I joined AT probably about a year after getting online at work and about 4 months after getting a computer at home...so it didn't take me to long to find it. 😀

i remember the UBB days. i wasn't around before then, but I remember GUTB, the countless Cyrix vs AMD vs Intel threads, and hell ... I remember actually using a Cyrix. :Q

I didn't have this username back then, obviously. I recognize all the oldtimers though. There are also many who haven't posted and probably won't

I just fried an old hard drive that had some HTML files on it from the "Semi Olden Days". The Butter thread, some GUTB posts, H8Tank posts, Magnus Kain posts, Nowhere Man whining about some BS, etc, and it got me thinkin about way back when.

Who else here is considered Anandtech Elderly, besides the hoodlum crew? (Red Dawn, etc)

I came onboard just after AT changed to its present..er..now past look back 1997-8.

I remember all those guys. GUTB was the worst.

Ever wonder why the oldest members all joined in Oct 1999?

It was because I hated the Fusetalk setup, and I liked the UBB better at the time, even though "time warps" and vanishing posts were regular. 🙂 We stayed at the UBB forums till our asses got booted off.

Man, I didn't realize how many elderly AT we have here. 😀 Those were the days, the 300A Celeron was king. I wanted to get into it at the time, but I could only get a 333. I traded it for a 300A later that I fried with a peltier.

Easy to tell, just look @ our joined date, I was afraid to post, the flames were pretty fierce... I gingerly replied to Hot Deal threads, but stayed away from OT.

Loved the religion threads, most of the posts would have gotten everyone banned or warned nowdays😀
