Maybe this is interresting for you:

I switched from a Tyan Tiger MP with 2x Athlon 1400C to an Asus A7M266-D with 2x Athlon XP 1900+.
At booting bios is telling me that i have 2x MP 1900+ installed.
No Problems at all.
I managed to set the FSB to 140MHz. That gives me 2x Athlon XP(MP) 2020+.
Windows XP Pro tells me there are XPs.

My hardware for your interrest:
LianLi PC 60 Tower
Asus A7M266-D
2x AMD Athlon XP 1900+
2x Noisecontrol Silverado
FSB set to 140MHz (soon ill try to unlock the XPs)
Prolink XX-Player Geforce 3
Adaptec 29160 64Bit/66MHz SCSI Controller
HDD, DVD, Burner all SCSI, no IDE devices
3Com nic
Sound Blaster Live 1024
Asus USB PCI board (included ín Asus motherboard box)
.......

Once again, for now no probs.

I just finished a marathon reading of the threads on the ASUS board over at 2CPU. I think I'm gonna take some time on the side lines. I've just started my new case mod anyway. I didn't like some of the trials over there. But it does sound like it is working.

Thanks HarryT for your insights. I'm so tempted.

EDIT: Hey, HarryT, you got any of your "old" stuff still laying around! I'm buying! :)

Harry T, do you see other than the obvious overclocking, any performance boost from having 66MHZ PCI as opposed to the 33MHZ? Im running on a Tiger MP and its running great, so unless there is a great diff Ill likely pass on the MPX. I need my 6 PCI slots. And is your 2020+ PR?

The 66-Mhz is useless unless you have 66-MHz cards of which there are very few out there.

Is everybody waiting for their favorite MB to be available, or did the whole discussion went to 2cpu.com?
Also, after how much time did the first thread disappeared?

I know I'm waiting for at least the Epox, MSI and Gigabyte boards to be reviewed before I commit my money to one of them.

After playing around with the Asus A7M266-D I am waiting for the second revision of the MPX boards before switching over. I finally got my Tyan Tiger MP rev3 boards operating perfectly (as in the only reason to reboot is because I got bored).

Just out of curiosity, but did they try both types of Durons (and how many did they try--maybe they just had a bad batch)? I would understand the Spitfires not working, but the Morgans should work (or at least I hope so)

I just read the review on the MSI Board. I'll Pass on this one too! I've got my memory already, and it's not registered. So, I'm still waiting. Anybody else here taken the plunge on the Asus?

EPOX M762 link

<< With 5 pins (model 7) you can go past 18x multiplier >>

Can't EPOX put this dip switch so we don't have to modify the board?

What the heck happened to my link! Thanks for fixing it :)

<< Can't EPOX put this dip switch so we don't have to modify the board? >>

Would be nice, but I guess we'll have to do this ourselves!

<< I do have 29160 which I believe is 66MHZ compatible >>

Nope - the 29160 is 33MHz.

1.04 already! Did they jump 1.02 and 1.03?

Kind of tempted to go for the Epox, but if the 1.04 is out already....

any word about the iwill board? or chaintech board?

epox/gigabyte/msi/iwill/chaintech

are my options :)

so far, looks like epox, mainly becasue of the four notch holes around the processors to fit some nice ol' swiftechs on them :)
