I can't remember the game well but I think it was called Syndicate. It was 3rd person with 4 operatives which you could upgrade biohardware. Looked like fallout but smaller units with less def.

AOL 3.0 with PuntShield, you'll never get me!

LMAO, I remember those days. Good stuff, yet so stupid. 😀

My vote goes to TradeWars. I'd kill to find a BBS that is still running it.

Yup, it was called Syndicate and they made Syndicate 2 if you weren't aware. I LOVED that game. Alsom to the other poster for "Jill of the Jingle," I thought I was the only person who had ever played that.

Other favorites from back in the day.

XTree Gold
An app I can't remember the name of. It was a DOS window manager for loading apps, the version number was 5.1 and it was 4 letters long as an acronym.

easy... I used to regularly play. do a google search for "bbs telnet"
We had a web based Tradewars game setup last year. I so owned everyone... good times...

You can even find active boards that run Usurper, BRE, SRE, TradeWars and L.O.R.D. with *ALL* the expansions...

WordPerfect 5.1
I used to be a wiz with that, knew so many of the shortcuts, etc.
I still use it for writing fiction.

It was funny the way it would react when you kept putting in cuss words.

The flamethrower was classic in that... watching the hapless victims run around as they burned to death.

XTREE GOLD OMGITROCKED FTW!!!!

I miss Xtree Gold 🙁 And Terminate, the rest I miss too but Xtree was soooo good. Use it with terminate and you had the first means of multi tasking.

Start xtree, launch terminate - go to console in terminate, launch xtree again, launch doom and terminate was still running - downloading all your goodies. AHHH those were the days

I was happier than a pig in poo when DOS 6 introduced that multiple boot screen so I didn't have to make disks. After spending some time on it, and getting a different mouse driver, I managed to get to 604K free with everything necessary loaded 😎
