I really don't want her to find my colelction of Top Gear videos.
What is the quickest, simplest way to hide them from her?
Nothing elaborate, she is not a computer hacker, just want them out of site for a while.

Umm put them in some folder no one would ever go to & check hidden in the properties.

Or Zip em all up, change the .zip ext to something else.

You want to hide your Top Gear videos? umm..... yeah ;)

Well, unless she knows how to do it, just do a right click -> properties -> hidden

Yeah, those Top Gear videos can be pret-ty darn embarassing if you're found out. ;)

Just put them all in one folder, make it hidden, and name it something cryptic, like "32ijrq98fu29urf."

And remember to clean the keyboard and mouse, don't want her finding strange hairs in between the keys.

if you are using XP, just create a guest account for her and make sure the files are in your document folder...

or just burn the files to a blank DVD/CD/portable drive and delete them of your PC...add them back when she is done...

Go into My Computer and Tools > Folder Options > View > Show Hidden Files. Once you do that, the files will reappear in a sort of translucent looking folder and just do right click > properties and unclick the hidden part.

Turn in you Nerd Card? right now if that was a serious question.
I have good looking girls coming over to my house. One is making dinner for me, and the other is an ex-GF coming to borrow my PC.
I am not a nerd. :frown:

in any explorer window, you cna to go tools, options or something like that and enable viewing of hidden files. just do that to see them, set them back to viewable, then go back and set it back so that you can't see hidden files.

You go to Internet Options then to Content and turn off AutoComplete.
