Guess I'm just middle-aged here! I remember the big upgrade (10/99?) but I was just a lurker back then. My earliest recollection is some 19" monitor price-misprint fiasco that was huge news here.

Oops, did I say that out loud? 😱

Well, I'm about as old as Smoke but haven't been DC'ing all that long. About 4.5 years. Good Grief !!!! where has the time gone? :Q

I'll have you know my farts are not old, they just smell that way. :disgust: 😛

Don't know about Gregg but I believe Ray would be a bit put out by the suggestion.
He's a lot younger than his impression! 😉
Unless Gregg = Greg = Smoke.
In that case yes, definitely over 55, definitely 'senior discount' territory there! 😉
Erm... Distinguished elder gentleman there... yeah, that's it.

I have arthritis, that has to count for something right?

After 21 there is only one good birthday left anyway, and that is when you qualify for the senior discount at Denny's.

Let's not start talking about aches and pains ... I'd go on and on and on!

"I'll just say you have to be brave to get old." 😉

Or, "Old age sucks!". 😛

I'm closing in on 65 in December. I would retire then, but I'm already retired.

I own socks that are older than most of you!

Will be 45 in October. Been folding since.....PII's were crunching the 5.03 beta.

the $400 power bill makes me think twice.....

Keep folding,

Gravity

Rudy, you don't look a day over ..................................

Now Greg is another matter..........................

When you get older, things change: For example, when I was younger a nice massage session was considered great foreplay. Now a massage session is used to relieve each other's sciatica!

$400 ???

I'll be 46

Hey all,

I will be 35 in February 09. I started cracking for the team AT back in the rc5-64 days. Had a couple of hard working K5 processors plus many others. 🙂 Just checked back in the other day because I miss stats. lol Figured I would push some for the team again on OGR-25. It is great to see you Dave, and many others too.

Have fun,

Rodney

For the TeAm

I remember this thread... or do I?

I am young in age and heart, but old in body and mind. Us young'uns are not as invincible as we think we are. I have two bad knees, each blown out twice (cartilage, etc), a bad back, a bad foot (broken and didn't heal correctly), tendinitis soon to develop to CTS, and enough concussions to give me brain damage and adversely effect my memory.

I've been crunching off and on for a long time, well before I even knew about internet forums. 😛 Back in the days of 486's and P1's and the Seti screensaver. I only found Anandtech when I started my company and wanted to overclock and build up my Linux skills.

EDIT: I have a real habit of just saying "Folding" instead of crunching because I stopped Seti a long time ago and I haven't done BOINC since last year. I actually stopped all DC right now because $100 power bills are killing me.

I'm 56, and I've been crunching ~2.5 years. Most of it has been with TeAm AnandTech, and I've met some nice people and had a lot of fun.
