Old Fart Roll Call

- Being older then 50 years, a member of the TeAm since 2001, member of this forum since 2004, I do not know if I am an old fart; anyhow :
<---- here!

Younger than everyone in this thread (I think), but been around the TeAm for a long time....

I'm getting tired of being called an old fart! :|

Oops, did I say that out loud? 😱

Who called you an old fart? Where is he? Where does he live? I want to go there and tell him my opinion. :|

LoL, If you do not post in this thread you are not an old fart ... you are either a young xxxxxxx or an old yyyyyyy.
(put the word of your choice instead of the xxxxxxxx).

Now we have 6 kids & our oldest is about to turn 20.

How old am I?

Define old.

Old enough to know better, older than Wellcky and younger than Ray.

Yeah, but better to be an old fart and linger than to vanish in a flash...

The more grey I get, the more distinguished I feel. And if I break wind at inopportune times as a result, that's just the price I (and others) must pay 😀

Just popped in and saw this thread. Made me look up this. Time sure flies.

OK... so I just reinstalled d.net to see how my single OC'd X2 compares with my fleet from years past. Perhaps I need to reassemble a new fleet.

My oldest will be 5 next Monday and my youngest is 20 months (2 boys). Thankfully I don't have any children in the middle and don't plan to have any more. For me, 6 kids would be nuts. I have trouble keeping up with the 2 I have sometimes. I suppose it gets easier when they get older though.

Heh - right...

I've got 4 teens right now.
Plus an 8 & a 10 year old. IMHO the younger ones are the easier ones.
My 3 teenage girls would give any parent a run for their money.
My 16 year old son is easy by comparison, but potentially could be a problem for a much longer time. The boys seem to mature a bit more slowly, which is part good & part bad.
I know there are a few others here with large families. (are you out there Petrus?)

No matter the size of the family, parenting isn't for wimps.

Yupp, here I am:
Five teenagers: three boys (13, 15, 18), two girls (14, 17) and a young woman (20).
I am quite happy: just now (that is for the past 3 - 4 months) they have been very comfy companions.
However, the time before that ... that did give us a run for the money. 😛
I agree, that parenting is not for the faint of heart, OTOH, there are very few activities that are so rewarding. I think sometimes that the kids teach us more than we teach the kids. But that is the nature of youth: repeat most of the mistakes of the parents and then add a few of your own. 😉

I agree that the younger ones are more easy. That may be the result of experience with the older ones.

I am also very proud of all the kids. They do well in matters moral; they know right from wrong, include ethical thinking and they more often think before they act than before.
One is on her way to become a police officer (which is a university education in Sweden), one is already planning a career in science, two are very talented musicians (who earn some money using their talent), one is just great in design. Only the youngest is more of a child - which is as it should be.

I would not call myself old. The kids keep me young and flexible in my mind. And that I am grateful for.
