Marx wrote the communist manifesto, how can a person be a marxist--in appreciation of his views--and yet in conflict with his damn book? I don't get that. They call him that because they know that communist is the equivalent to Godwin's law and makes them sound like an ass.Originally posted by: Corbett

http://voices.washingtonpost.c..._rush_limbaugh_in.html. Really, one could go on all night finding these silly statements by the right. And today Rush Limbo claimed Obama was trained by Marxists.
And I already told you why they refer to him as a Marxist and not a "commie". I have never ONCE heard mainstream talk radio call Obama a commie.

OK, please expound on one of the key differences between Marxism and Communism. No, they call him a Marxist for the very reason I posted. Obama believes in "spreading the wealth" A key value of "Marxism"
Again, more hair splitting. I think we both know why people call him a Marxist.Marxism is basically a system of analysis, and a way to view the world. Communism, on the other hand, is basically a political movement, a form of government, a condition of society.

Now that we've gotten that over with, they are the same. So, if anybody has any clue what they're actually talking about, to call somebody a Marxist is to call them a Communist.

What ever happened to "A rising tide lifts all boats"? It appears that the 21st century "rising tide" lifts only yachts, and sinks the boats.

From lieberman. More blah here, marxist being the euphemism of course for red-adorned commie. Not the radio, but lieberman is pretty big.Originally posted by: Corbett

No distraction here. No hair-splitting either. You claim talk radio says these things, now prove it.
In the same list where I mentioned other media sources, moron.
I see, so you are admitting you have no proof then? Again, I will dumb it down for you.
Please post links to talk radio saying Obama is a terrorist, he's a Muslim, he's a commie.
This is leading, like saying "Well, I think it may be worth asking if that man is a pedophile. I personally cannot say with certainty that he is not."
The media is less committed than leading, and this is why so many in the country do still think he's a muslim (I got an email forward just days ago from somebody who apparently approved of it and it alluded to this) and a communist (including those on these forums) and we've already seen the rallies of people who say he's a terrorist.
We can all put this to bed on Nov 5 when mccain goes home, thank God.
Lieberman is not talk radio. And in any case, he never called him a commie, he called him a Marxist, which Lieberman gets from things Obama says and supports like when he says he wants to "Spread the wealth around" AKA - "To each according to his needs, from each according to his abilities" - Karl Marx.
Again, I'll ask Vic to post links to support his claims about "talk radio". So far, he has not.

Savage. Damn it. I forgot about that loon. Of well, I'd be delighted to see someone post this form the ones they commonly refer to as "talk radio" aka - Rush, Sean, Beck, Ingraham, Levin.

The point is, nobody called him a communist. They called him a Marxist because of Karl Marx's famous quote of spreading the wealth. Give whatever reason you want for them using Marxist instead of commie, but the point is, Vic is wrong when he says talk radio calls him a commie.

Can't help you there. how about a quote from Obamas book, stating how he sought out Marxist professors in college?
"To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets. We smoked cigarettes and wore leather jackets. At night, in the dorms, we discussed necolonialism, Franz Fanon, Eurocentrism, and patriarchy. When we ground out our cigarettes in the hallway carpet or set our stereos so loud that the walls began to shake, we were resisting bourgeois society's stifling constraints. We weren't indifferent or careless or insecure. We were alienated. But this strategy alone couldn't provide the distance I wanted, from Joyce or my past. After all, there were thousands of so-called campus radicals, most of them white and tenured and happily tolerated. No, it remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names."

It's just amazing how dishonest you are. Oh shit, you were wrong, but no... you're not going to accept that source, it has to be one they "commonly" refer to as talk radio.

I said talk radio claims he'd abort a baby after its due date. A claim you not only didn't deny but even approved of.
BTW, it's amazing how every time I google your words, several dozen wingnut blogs pop right up.

I'm not convinced of anything, but only a leftie loon would be able to decipher that audio into clearly saying "Kill Him". Congrats.
