By now, the democrats can nominate a sack of potatoes.. and it would win.

Keep the crazies coming out of your woodworks fellas; we'll have a toaster as President of the United States of America in no time.

I'm not much into guilt by association. I mean are all Muslim bad? No. Sadly many are. Republicans will take some heat for their loonies. Hillary is a shoe in.

I don't understand how christians pick and choose what parts of their holy book they'll follow. Why not any of these many other things that are banned by their god? This is all from the same book in the bible, leviticus, that this guy quotes from.

And I don't understand how a reasonably intelligent person has difficulty finding an answer to such a pedestrian question by using Google for a few minutes.

Look at the OP, this wannabe congressman is quoting old testament scripture justifying stoning gays as 'right'. He is a christian, his particular sect appears to believe in the old testament, not all do. He's obviously picking and choosing from the old testament, not disregarding it.

Regardless of whether a particular christian cult chooses to follow the old testament or not, these are/were laws commanded by the christian god. Somehow, he seems less loving in the bible than in church as they talk about the nice stuff and pass the collection plate.

The Tea Party is the US version of Al Qaida. As dangerous, and its members should be treated in the exact same way as Al Qaida members.

I am not really a fan of the Tea Party, but this is complete bullshit. There is no similarity whatsoever between the two, and people like you who pretend there is are a large part of the reason this country is going down the shitter

How can anyone be surprised, this is standard for Oklahomans, Texans and most Red Southern states.

No, it is not "standard" for anyone here, you as as big of piece of shit as these guy is.

Well, while this may sound crass, I'm now finally beginning to understand why God must like to strike down Bible Belt Oklahoma with devastating tornadoes on a regular basis. And the weird part is many of people that live there refuse to leave even after they get hit, then rebuild and wait for the next tornado to tear their families and homes apart.

I even heard about some people who are so religious they refuse to leave their churches and congregations and have had their homes destroyed 3 or 4 times in the last 30 years. That's beyond dense, that's just plain stupid. How truly faithful can they claim to be when their imaginary God keeps knocking their homes down apparently just to spite them for their warped and bigoted beliefs?

you're asking religious people to have rational thoughts, that's a laugh.

Holy crap! This guy is "largely libertarian" in the same way a stonefish is largely libertarian - although apparently without a stonefish's higher thought processes.

I vote we all take up a collection to send this guy on a fact-finding mission to Antarctica, then repeal the law of gravity just long enough for him to fall off the planet.

...and extremes of liberalism and progressivism mixed as they are with the potential bigotry of secularism, should serve other ideological liberal/progressive bigots an insight into how both of these kinds of absolute certainty appear to conservative brains that do not rationalize logic away just because it conflicts with their opinions. ;)

thats just a stupid at worst and intellectually lazy at best answer. Making up shit as you go along is no indication of logic and reasoning. the only other group of humans that employs the same line of reasoning as yours is toddlers whose brains havent fully developed.

if killing innocent is part of a deity's plan then he/she/it is more than welcome to keep it .

Doug Stanhope has a refreshing and honest view on things.

You should check out his bit on assisted suicide. It's in his "Beer Hall Putsch" special (on Netflix).

Oh and this is lovely:

What I will tell you right now is that was done in the Old Testament under a law that came directly from God. And in that time, it was totally just – it came directly from God. I have no plans to reinstitute that in Oklahoma law. I do have very big moral misgivings about those kinds of sins, and I think that those kinds of sins will not do our country any good and certainly doesn’t do anything to preserve the family.

When pressed again by the interviewer if he would approve of such a sentence, were such a law to be somehow passed, the man identified as Esk would only respond that it was a “moot point.” He went on to say, “I will not comment about a private conversation that I had with somebody.”

No, that's not what you said dipshit. We have the transcript.

I used to say that however much both worlds would suck, I'd rather live in a ultraconservative world than an ultraliberal one, using American definitions. The tea party is really starting to make me eat those words.

Would probably require some elaborate vpn nonsense. I can't find it on youtube either, unfortunately.

Stop thinking logically and imagine that you're a uneducated self loathing moron who has been told his whole life that his natural impulses are evil and that you'll burn in hell for having enjoyable sex. Pretty sure that covers it.
