I have lived in OK for the last quarter century and this does not surprise me one bit. Some of the people in charge (or want to be in charge) here make me think of the Talibans. They can barely count past ten but always are ready to throw around hatred and intolerance. Bible in one hand, firearm in the other, claim in the name of God everything they do/touch, absolute and total hypocrisy and yet they pat themselves in the back as if thats something one should be proud of.
we rank almost last (Thank God for the total shithole that is the state of Mississipi) in education, median household income, mental health facilities, with one of the highest divorce rate and yet what do we worry about? it's the GAYs, Muslims, weed, and illegal Mexicans. It's so fucked up that news ike this make local headlines almost weekly.

Why do you stay there?

The Tea Party is the US version of Al Qaida. As dangerous, and its members should be treated in the exact same way as Al Qaida members.

ok i agree this is insanly stupid and he should be banished from politics for life.. but the tea party is no where near as bad as Al Qaida .... get real.

From his campaign web site:

A "Frivolous divorce"? Is that what guys call it when their wife divorces them and they themselves didn't want said divorce? I hope she has a restraining order, it sounds like he's one of those diehards.

Oops, I mean religious zealot.

That quote makes it sounds like he is stalking his poor ex-wife.

Its probably what he calls it when his wife wants a divorce after catching him balls deep in some guy's ass :D

If he would just take his stoning like a man he wouldn't have to worry anymore ():)

Oklahoma is a silly place, remind me to never go near it.

Unfortunately another backwards place with voters, Senators, Representatives, Etc.

And oil.

The governors of both those states should just get a room. It would be a love fest.
Oops! Thought i was in the Perry thread. Oh well still fits.

By now, the democrats can nominate a sack of potatoes.. and it would win.

Keep the crazies coming out of your woodworks fellas; we'll have a toaster as President of the United States of America in no time.

Soooo he is condoning murder, and who knows what crazies out there he just inspired to do this.

No, he's not. Murder is an unjustified intentional killing of a human. He's arguing the government would be justified.

In my opinion, that is far, far scarier. It puts him in the same category as people like Bin Laden and Hitler, i.e., people who rationalize their evil actions as being beneficial and good.

These extremes of conservatism mixed as they are with the potential bigotry of religious doctrines, should serve other secular ideological conservative bigots an insight into how both of these kinds of absolute certainty appear to liberal brains that do not rationalize logic away just because it conflicts with their opinions. Naturally, however, there is no chance of this because every form of bigotry is inimical to this kind of insight. Bigotry protects itself from introspection and analysis because it is all rationalization.

I don't understand how christians pick and choose what parts of their holy book they'll follow. Why not any of these many other things that are banned by their god? This is all from the same book in the bible, leviticus, that this guy quotes from.

http://leviticusbans.tumblr.com/post/23730370413/76-things-banned-in-leviticus

When the book gets big enough, it gets plenty of contradictions that allow you to believe what ever you want to believe.

Oh, thats from the first copy, the updated copy does not say that you have to send women away when they are on their periods, or shellfish is an abomination.
