and they were dealt with swiftly and justly.

False rage thread is stupid.

I see no reason to call this "false rage," just because the fraternity has dealt with it appropriately. I frankly find it pretty sickening that in 2015 a bus full of college-age kids would be singing a song like this, and it's certainly a reminder that we are far from finished dealing with racism in this country. I don't see this as a cosmic piece of news but I do see it as newsworthy. I do appreciate the frat's dealing with it swiftly, in any event.

Yawn.

When racism is institutionalized for generations and virtually no black wealth is legally being passed on until essentially 50 years ago, it's not really difficult to understand why many contemporary blacks make poor decisions growing up in awful neighborhoods with crippling poverty considering heritage and estate are still the #1 determinant of future financial well being and decision making.

This.

The origin of racism is self hate which generates a need to put others down as the ones who are inferior, feeling that's the truth about oneself and not knowing it.

Yep. So much psychology. Yet even for geniuses psychology and sociology can be so confusing and illogical. David Brooks has said some stuff about this and he has his own book on the subject.

I remember a thread here last year where people tried to argue that Racism didn't really exist in this country any more. It stuck with me because I was dumbfounded that anyone could say that.

Link it.

What most conservatives say is that it's no longer 1968.

I am not not racist. Just tired of hearing the same cop out.

You fuck up in school and decide not to study, no one hires you = racism
You smoke crack and you live under a bridge = racism
You go around being the thug, stealing shit and being the badass and now cop kills you = racism

And on and on.

Yet there are plenty of black people who did what anyone else would do, study work hard etc.. And they get a shot at the presidency.

You lost any credibility you ever head when you posted that "final solution" thread. There are plenty of crazy ass people around here. Few are as disgusting as you appear to be though.

A conservative in 1968; "It's no longer 1921!".

Address the issue. There is still, in 2015, the virulent, lingering effects of black racism, and it's simply well accepted history at this point. There isn't a liberal or conservative or other ideological framework needed to understand said institutional racism. For those intellectually curious enough to care, documented history is exquisitely clear.

But hey, I suppose it's a massive conspiracy that 90% of blacks vote Democrat. They must be out of their mind! lol

i wonder how a group of people can congregate and film themselves saying such awful things. you would think one of them would at least have the sense to tell the guy to turn off the camera. it is clearly a song they have all sung many times before.

This. Although give them due credit - it isn't easy for frat boys to stand out in dickheadery, yet there they stand, head and shoulders above other frat boys. These boys at least mastered one subject. Might not be much of an accomplishment, but seeing as it might well be their last accomplishment . . .

The reason it's a shit thread isn't because it isn't newsworthy, it's because there is absolutely no one on the other side.

The guy was hiding the camera. It wasn't meant to be a public statement.

I remember one time I was on a bus in college, going to the local mall.

I heard some black girls on the bus. One of them was chastising the other for "talking white". Yeah, like it's somehow a disgrace for a person of African-American descent to speak in proper English. To think that they were in college, even.

and this relates to the OP because....

No idea how this becomes big news. White guys are making fun of blacks all the time, blacks do of whites. Why is a video like this national news? It's so absurd.

Eh because in 2015 for a national organization to have its members singing like this is unbelievable. Even more so their members are on a campus for higher learning. If these people went to KKK university it would be understandable. Although disgusting. But these people go to a major state university.

On some campuses they want to ban the American flag. On some campuses they openly practice and call for anti-Semitism. Some college campuses ban republicans and conservatives from speaking at their commencements and just speaking in general. The list goes on.

There's a common denominator.

Why anyone would be questioning how this could happen on a college campus I find to be curious. If one is paying attention it just fits right into the agenda. These are the type of attitudes that are bred in institutions of higher learning these days. Tolerance when taken to the extreme circles back and then becomes intolerance.
