the novelty wears off... unless you play it in the way its suppose to be played - WITH OTHER PEOPLE! its a great party system and its loads of fun when there are other people around
This. It gets old if you play by yourself, but it's a blast with others.

And there's plenty of non-shovelware that is worth it. Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Sunshine, Twilight Princess, Zack & Wiki, etc. are all a blast.

It's a great game, but it came out for the GC. I think you mean Super Mario Galaxy.

Which is an even better game :)

I've had my Wii since the launch date and I still play it 3-4 times a week with my wife and friends. I rarely play it by myself - that's what my PS2 and guitar hero games are for.

But I wouldn't go out of the way to say that you'll be done w/ it in less than a month. I can't believe so many people are agreeing w/ that statement.

SSBB, Mario Kart, Wii Fit, and tons of old gamecube games make this one a blast imo.

Now the one thing I will say is that 95% of the games that Nintendo puts out are crap. Everyone knows the goodies are in the exclusive games.

Yeah homebrew is fun to mess with, I have a few emulators installed on mine. I don't know if more recent firmware support the hacks, though, I've left mine at 3.2U just to be safe.

I hate that every Wii post is followed by

"Wii will be old/stale in a month and you will sell it, nintendo will go belly up from the lack of sales, and lack of 3rd party games"

Seriously... I've had a wii fo r6 months now. I still play it at least every 3 days. Wii fit is every day (going on a week and 1/2 now).

yea as long as you have something like starfall, you don't have to worry about accidentally upgrading your firmware. i left mine at 3.2U for now and everything works fine. all the emulators out there will take up a lot of your freetime.

I never felt that way about the Wii. Got it at launch, played Zelda, finished Zelda, and pretty much didn't touch the Wii until SSBB came out.

which wasn't nearly as good as ssbm

that's exactly how i felt about my 360

Sell it to me, then, please. My girlfriend is looking for a third one to stream Hulu in the bedroom since apparently she hates to lay in bed at night now before falling asleep since she can't watch Fringe/Bleach there, so she cozies up on the computer chair in the computer room or the living room couch with a blanket until she falls asleep and dozes off.

Please, I implore you, save me from having to constantly carry a mostly sleeping woman from various rooms of the house into the bedroom every night. Additionally, please help me save the retail cost of a third 360.

Hulu + Playon + Netflix + Dedicated media machine + Network = no need for standard definition TV ever again.

Damn you Nintendo for creating yet ANOTHER system I love....

I got bored of my Wii after about a year. I got it Dec 06 and I haven't played it in about a year. The last game I bought was The Godfather for it.

I ROCK!!!

I never thought I would, but I do like playing Guitar Hero... sometimes... The Wii is just fun, despite it's limitations/shortcomings.

So does Wii Fit actually give you a good work out or is it just more for fun and for elderly people to get a mini work out.

Eh, you can get as much out of it as you want. It will keep track of your weight and goals you set too.

My wife got me one for Christmas so the jury is still out. She also got me the Wii Fit. I have been using Wii Fit about 4-5 days a week fairly steadily and the wife has been using it also. Also our 4-year old loves. My Mom has come over and she also loves playing the golf, tennis and Bowling on it. I still love the Bowling game. Still got to try the Golf game looks interesting. My Dad is now considering getting one also because he had so much fun playing with it.
