He ordered the beer and it was placed on the bar. The standing man is looking down, so the bar appears to be a perfectly flat surface (whereas the sitting man observes an angle from his perspective). Therefore, the standing man's beer is going to also appear flat when he's looking straight down at it. This causes it to taste like a "flat" beer =p

Ok, I guess I'm wondering what the "Why" refers to, is it why did he order a beer a moment ago? Because it's hot outside? And he's thirsty.
