the one who stands has a beer that he ordered a moment ago but it tastes flat...why?

I'll post the answer later in lets say 3 hours...bet you 20$ paypal no one can get it

Second Update:
sorry I was taking a nap...just woke up...no one is even close

25$'s Paypal to whoever gets it next...no time limit...everybit of information is there..and is used....you must think inside the box but in a circle form if I may state it abstractly....

This is the best riddle I have ever heard so I am going to up the prize 5$'s everyday someone does not get it...so tomarrow its 30$ etc

3rd Update: People are getting better with their answers, someone came sort of close 30$

4th: 40$

5th: I will not be around to update it tomarrow and no one is even close so I am feeling cocky...so its 100$ no more than 100$ though

keep trying...one of AT's genious's is bound to get it....remember prespectives people

Don't think this is right, since it's Sunday afternoon, but maybe:

The two guys who walk in are a beer delivery guy and the bartender. The bar just opened since it's a Sunday afternoon (everyone was in church earlier) and the bartender stands up because he's...the bartender. The one sitting is the beer salesman or whatever, the bartender is testing the beer. Shrug.

Guy in stripes is a convict. He's sitting down, the man standing up is his parole officer. HE can't drink on duty, so he got non-alcoholic beer that tastes flat (?)

the 2 men dont know each other. the man in the stiped suit thinks that the man in the glasses is blind, and thinks he can trick the blind man out of his beer. the striped suit man sees the blind man order a beer, but at the same time notices an older, flat, abandoned drink from someone who probably went to the bathroom. since the blind man is standing, he cant sense the switch, and drinks a flat beer while the striped suit man enjoys a free one :)

now wheres my money?

Because the "bar" they walked into was exactly that; a horizontal chair rail or hand-rail bar or something similar. The beer collided with the "bar" and is now flat because of it.

Or
There is obviously useless information in what the OP said. The guy with the sunglasses walked into a bar, which is generally dark, he orders a beer but when he turns to grab it, he likely grabbed the beer of somebody elses and thats why its flat.

Or there are three people in the scenario it's just that the OP masked it.. The OP says "the other stands" but the thing is, if you walk into a bar, your already standing. Possibly the OP either carefully worded it or messed up. I think what happened (this is my second possibility) is that there was a dude sitting down and he stands up (a third guy), the guy with the sunglasses orders a drink but because it's dark inside the bar, he grabs the drink from the guy that stood up. The OP never specifically mentions the third guy but I believe there is a third guy.

Requoted the OP for ease.

no it's not :)

No wonder noone can solve this because many people dont even get the basics right.

If it says "tastes" flaty then it fvckin' tastes FLAT..not LOOKS flat or seems flat..it TASTES flat.

If it says "has a beer he ordered"..then he can NOT have someone else's beer because he has the beer HE ordered.

Otherwise...the riddle is worthless if you could bend and interpret every statement in it...my $0.2

ELEMANTARY LOGIC people...read the riddle and dont make up stuff :)

thanks, i thought it was pretty good, but n00b was saying earlier that most of the guesses "didnt use everything"... this certainly doesnt use every piece of information, but it makes perfect sense. i have no idea why its sunny in august and why the sitting gy would be wearing a striped suit...

but it sounds good right? lol

if thats what your thinking then your obviously never going to get it either... riddles force you to make implied assumptions and to be creative. he didnt tell us every piece of information b/c thats what makes the riddle so damn hard.

and i dont know what your talking about it because the beer doesnt "seem" flat, hes obviously drinking a flat beer, DHUR

and if he were blind (implied by the sunglasses) how would he know that the beer is actually the one he ordered?

Maybe it was a blind man and his seeing dog (two guys, guy dog?) The dog sat down and is wearing a striped suit like i don't know maybe he's a striped dog. and the blind man stood up and ordered a beer, but grabbed the wrong one at the bar and it's flat because it's been there too long i.e. something someone left.

the one who stands has a beer that he ordered a moment ago but it tastes flat...why?

The guy in the striped suit is a referee for some outdoor sport. Maybe football, soccer or cricket (i will explain the latter two in a bit). The guy wearing sunglasses is a spectator who just finished watching the game most likely. The ref sits down, the tourist is still standing talking/rubbing shoulders/doing something. This part kind of confuses me... dont really know why he is standing... the sunglasses probably signify tourist attire. Maybe he is a visiting sports reporter interviewing the ref after the game. Regardless the key point here is that he is from out of the country.

The reason i chose soccer/cricket is that those are generally played in england. The tourist/spectator was drinking english beer, which has a reputation of being flat (see: http://www.epinions.com/content_2780471428 Text).

IN A NUTSHELL: the beer tastes flat because it is british beer which is generally perceived as flat.

edit: just like to clarify how i used the given facts to come to my conclusions:

1) Sunday - Sports are played on a sunday
2) August - New sport season
3) Sitting - Possibly being interviewed? Sitting at a desk of some sort?
4) Standing - Interviewing sitting guy
5) Stripes - Referee attire (although i just realized that maybe not all refs use stripes outside of US, i still stick with my claim however)
6) sunglasses - tourist attire implying visitor to the country
7) Beer - has a pretty strong association with sports
8) flat beer- england (see link)

ok the guy with the sunglasses just came from outside where it was sunny and his eyes haven't adjusted to the darker indoor light yet, grabbed the wrong beer and it tastes flat because its one ordered by some other patron.

bah i give up

edit one more try:

ok the guy with the sunglasses just came from outside where it was sunny and his eyes haven't adjusted to the darker indoor light yet, looked at the pinstriped suit guy looked at tthe clock on the wall and got that persistance of vision crap that happens when you get bright light in your eye and close your eyes type deal.

then he looked at the clock on the wall and thought the time was sooner than it was but it was actually later and the beer had gone flat whilst he did not realize how much time had passed.

ok i give up now.
