Ok, WTF, is NewEgg ripping people off or what?

Haha, check out the reviews on NewEgg, the dude with 2 Xeons, 10GB RAM, 1.2 TB Storage, 2 X850XT PEs and 2 Sound Blaster Audigy 4... He only paid $10,000... 😛

A while ago NewEgg had a sale on a Sapphire X850 XT. Sale price was $489. ZZF had the same product for $20 less. Now if you look on the NewEgg (2 weeks after the sale), the retail price for that card is $20 less than the sale price. Cool? I don't think so.

ZZF's price is still lower than theirs...I don't like what I've been seeing from them (Plus ZZF gives a lot of 2nd day free air on their products.

Still, thats outrageous... And the funny (or sad however you look at it) part is is that people are still buying that card from NewEgg just because someone told them go to newegg... oh well... caveat emptor

If you don't care than don't waste your valuble precious time repling to the post... Real simple. Like shaving a cat underwater eh?

Well, sir, instead of being a smartass you could have said this thread belongs in the X forum, I will be moving it there now. Or you could have done the dickish thing some moderators do and just move it. Both of those options would have been better than doing the childish thing and just say "And we care why?"

Food for thought Mr. Moderator...

My first reply to your post was merely being sarcastic but you took it the wrong way..not my fault but you decided to fire back with your comments so I replied back with where I think this should go. No need to get hostile. :|

in general I've had great experiences with newegg, and 99% of their products have great prices. The only things I've seen them price gauge like this are 1) Ultra rare GFX cards, like this and 2) Ultra rare CPUs, like the FX-55 and P4EE. Personally, I don't care, since these items are rediculous rip-offs to begin with ($550 for a video card, $800-1000 for a CPU). If you don't like the prices you're seeing on X850XTPEs, then maybe you should be looking at the more reasonable 6800GT/X800XL instead. They have around 90% of the performance of the X850XTPE for hundreds less. Next gen cards are gonna leave current gen in the dust, anyway, so in a year and a half it's not gonna make a difference if you're getting 10FPS with an X850XTPE or 9FPS with an X800XL, but you will have those hundreds of dollars to console you with the X800XL.

Anyways, for things that normal people actually buy, like A64 3000+-3500+s, or nforce4 ultra boards, or mid-high end graphics cards, or things like that, newegg generally has great prices, which is why I bought like 95% of my components from them when I built my new PC.

NewEgg has overpriced 99% of their stuff. But they sort of have a monopoly because they seem to be the only online retailer that basically has everything.

Everything including awesome service. Almost worth a little extra money.

Not to mention the fact that they advertise everywhere. Even on the Battle.Net there's a large banner with the "Once You Know, You NewEgg" motto and a link to the website.

Newegg.com's prices have gotten way out of hand lately, with as much volume as they do you would think they could bargain for prices as low as DELL or some other big oem, but instead WINCHESTER 3500+ Retail has gone up in price while other merchants have come down.

it was nice of newegg to also jack the price of the hyundai L90d+ even when chiefvalue, to my understanding their sister company, kept it at the same when it came back into stock. they even pushed it up another 20$ for a short time once the onrush began then fropped it back down again to 410, then 399, then 389. etc..

i think they are just very astute, competent sellers. they know what they're doing and as mentioned, supply drives the prices. they'll drop them when they see the buying slows. and of course they know alot of people flock to them first.
