This shows that you really don't know anything.
In reality it shows you are fairly illiterate. I was giving my interpretation of what Nik was expressing and not agreeing or disagreeing. For such heavy college education your reading comprehension is limited.
Before I got into this and was in the professional world, I would go out with my girlfriends (just regular civilians) and we go to the bars on Friday and Saturday nights. These girls would have guys buy them drinks and they would get hit on and get drunk. Then they would go home with these guys and fvck them. Perfect strangers. This happened every weekend. Just like something out of Sex and the City. They weren't hookers/escorts just your average everyday working girls. Then some of my girlfriends would call me up in panick afraid that they pregnant because they didn't use protection. Half of them couldn't even remember the guy who they slept with. The guys were just as bad. These places were like meat markets.
And? Everyone knows that how bars and clubs are. They've always been meat markets, so I'm not seeing the point here.
Escorts especially your high class escorts know to use protection.
Please. Everyone knows how to "use" protection -- some just choose not to. If my livelihood was on my back, then I certainly wouldn't want an STD or pregnancy. Just smart business sense.
They know how to spot disease immediately by expecting a mans body in a discreet way. They are educated on these matters.
Again, this is good business sense. I'm not knocking your ability to do your occupation or the health standards in it. I'm simply saying that in American Society prostitution is still taboo, and you have to expect that some people (Nik in this thread) are going to have a different moral view of it. If you are going to out yourself as a hooker, then you can't expect those who have a moral issue with it not to respond.
I'm not talking about Street Walkers. These women keep their bodies in very good shape and work out.
To a degree. I've seen plenty of escort sites where the woman was nowhere near in shape or even that special. I'm sure
some of your occupation does this, but let's not say all -- it isn't true.
They take good care of themselves. Some have college educations but found they make so much more money doing this.
And I think this is Nik's point... he was asking for skills other than the current ones you are using. If you've got a College Degree then fine -- that might go against his point, but it answers his question. Your logic, however, is dangerous. I can make a lot more money selling drugs than most things if I wanted to, but I choose not to. Still against the law (like prostitution), and a dealer that has a "select" choice of clients (think rich or a limited list) is not a street dealer. Same exact principal. The people want the drugs, they only sell to those who are on their exclusive list, and of course only to consenting to adults. So what's the difference between a drug dealer like that and an escort? It all comes down to morals, and some people feel both of those activities are wrong. I'm not saying I do, but I don't think Nik explained himself very well.
I know several who have lawyer degrees, and others who work jobs in the real world but do this on the side for extra income.
Is that anything like a law degree?
Some of these escorts are known as High Dollar Hotties. They charge as much as 2000 to 3000 an hour. They only see maybe 1 or 2 clients a week at most and are very selective.
Ok, and? If I were a top-level dealer with an exclusive list I could make 10k a deal and do two deals a week. So, why don't I do it?
If I were a man, I'd chose an escort before taking off with a woman I didn't know from a bar.
This is what I was trying to explain to you. Escorts are fairly taboo -- taking home someone with a mutual interest from a bar is NOT. I'm sorry, but I'd much rather meet someone in which the interest is made through talking, flirting, and attraction rather than money.
As far as marrying an escort, I know many who are married, some whose husbands know and support them.
Oh my God. Let's not act like being an escort is the perfect occupation. I'm sure there are some anecdotal tales of this, but as a whole -- you know most are not married, and you know most males wouldn't support a female doing that. Call it close-minded, but some people have different beliefs.
These are women who are very smart, loving and make wonderful wives. When they decide to leave the profession they are just like any other woman and live a very fulfilling life with children and all. They leave that life behind.
But they were still a hooker. It is still taboo in American Society regardless of the truth of it or the reality of it. Societal macro views vs. some kind of micro view for someone in the industry is going to differ. Severely. Fact is, odds on an escort or prostitute becoming a virtuous PTA President with a high-powered Executive job is rather slim. The chances of professional embarrassment or career destruction from your past or present occupation could destroy you. I highly doubt Meg Whitman whores herself on the side to afford her new place in the Hampton's.
And yes, I know I'm an asshole, but don't pigeonhole me without knowing me. Society's view of prostitution and escorts in general are factual. Sure, some people have varied opinions, but American Society as a whole does not view them on the same level as a college-educated white-collar worker. I'm sorry, but they just don't. It doesn't mean you are bad or that you are doing anything wrong, but that's what the view of Society is, and the point I was trying to express.
How many would marry a Hooker? Not many. How many would sleep with one? A lot. So, that destroys the idea that they are just like "any other woman or a chick from a bar."
