A good majority of the rudeness comes from the young(see still in highschool) kids, who have not yet either, been educated, or had real life experiences that actually give them a educated opinion on said subject that they discuss.

I'd have wouldn't have much of a problem with dating or marrying a stripper or someone of a similar profession. My point has been that as a whole society looks down on it.
Look, I go to strip clubs, watch porn, and the like, so obviously I am not bothered by Valkerie's occupation. Saying, however, that it is as respectable as a prototypical white-collar occupation is simply not true. There is no way to MAKE society view a trash collector or prostitute on the same level as a chef or doctor. It takes time and a realization that an occupation is simply that -- an occupation.

Did you actually read my posts, Jean? I wasn't backing up Nik as much as I was trying to explain what his POV was, and the POV of society generally. I've dated someone 14 years older than me, and I find many mature women to be attractive, and I was asking not to be pigeonholed just because I was explaining what the bulk of people feel. Reality is what reality is, and the US and the bulk of the world are simply not progressive enough or even want to put sex-based industries on the same level as legitimate ones. I'd say the younger generations today are much more progressive and understanding than generations of the past. Taking some of the young people of this board, and painting them as what this generation or even young people as a whole are -- is not fair.
Even in more progressive countries such as Switzerland and Germany there have been citizen initiated actions lately to rid cities and areas of street prostitution or even more legitimate sex-based industry. Most of the places are making brothels and the like become heavily regulated and structured to a certain area of the city -- which I think is a good thing. If street-based prostitution is elminated then that's a good thing. Brothels and escorts with regulation and set policies are an even better thing. Not only does it protect the clients, but it protects those that have chosen that profession.
