By my clocks, its about to hit the 18th, grrr....there better be benchmarks, and they better be here by morning, ill need comthing to console me after i awake to another rebooted machine (new P4 machine, just under 3weeks old, somthings borked up yesterday morning and now its all gone to hell...yet to figure it out)
 
The Inquirer has said that the launch is supposed to be in london on the 17ht , but seeing as how its almost the 18th there, something must have gone wrong...

I believe that everyone invited is still at the ATI cocktail party, drunk as hell, playing UT2003 on their Radeons 9700 at gazillions FPS and flaming nVidia's buttocks off. 😉

I wouldn't be so sure about that, considering that ATI was able to provide hardware for Carmack & co to run Doom3 on.

Hopefully we'll see benchmarks tomorrow, & just maybe I'll have to sell my newly acquired GF4.

I hate it when that happens.

NFS4, that Gigabyte card is the r250 not the r300, correct? It only has 64MB RAM so I don't think its a R300 based card.
 
Are we sure that the R300 is being released in half an hour? (12:00 a.m. Pacific Time) I mean, we thought it was yesterday, and that didn't pan out....
 
Man what is this BS? First I was expecting an article Wednesday morning... turns out the release was postponed till Thursday... well here is Thursday and still no arcticle, boohoohoo🙁😛

The article for the 9700 will be a preview and I highly doubt there to be any benchmarks, since these cards won't be available for another month or so, there is no reason for ATi to disappoint us with mediocore results due to immature drivers/hardware or whatever. At least that was the case with the 8500. We should get benchmarks for the 9000 but who really cares about that card? Performance for it will fall below that of the 8500.
 
Its 10 minutes past 12:00 a.m. here on the west coast, and no R300. I wonder how many ATi fanboys are rabidly clicking refresh on their favorite hardware site right now.

My prediction is that it doesn't hit today......
 
Someone over at rage3d said that "a little birdie" told them that the NDA expires at 5 am central time. I wish that it is true because I really want to see how the cards perform. However, I won't be holding my breath or I might look like this ------> 🙁

I'm going to bed.... I hate ATi fanboys, proclaiming this and that about their precious new card. The NV30 will be here soon enough. I just wanted to see what all of the hype was about. Stupid ATi...you just tarnished my impression of your card by waiting until 3 a.m. to release a card. 😉
