and im worried.. i dont know where the heck it went but i cant find it anywhere... what can i do to protect myself???? am i screwed now if/when someone else gets their hands on my card or what??

You certainly shouldnt be carrying it, that's just asking for trouble, especially if you lose it along with other identifying information, such as your DL and CC's. If you file a complaint like Caesar said, you shouldn't be liable. And again, a lot of peopel have my SSN/SIN number. I mean, you give it out to employers for one. How safe do you think that information is with them?
File the complaint, get a replacement, and let that be the end of it.
