The Mushkin Redline has awesome timings for DDR500. If you're going for quiet, don't base which board you pick off of the chipset coolers. I've owned an ASUS with a passive cooler, and now with the DFI I can't tell a difference noise wise with the chipset fan. Yeah, yeah, I know I said I was doneOriginally posted by: TheNewGuy8
you think the OCZ plat orMushkin redline would really make a big difference over the G.Skill?
your arguments against the economical nature of the A8N32 are compelling...I hate to give up the passive - any thoughts on what the best passive alternative is? OR maybe I'll just get the DFI Ultra-d (Sorry crescent) and see if I can live with it. If not I'll try to passive cool it later.

well, its a gift, so I'm just going to be thankful and enjoy it.
looking more and more at the DFI...read some reviews that the magnetic bearing fan they use isn't bad at all.
But I'd like some other opinions on my earlier comment -
"Say money isn't the issue - if I just want to make sure I've got the best board that will be a) quiet b) great OC ability and c) most future proof,
would you all agree that the A8N32-SLI Deluxe is the best board for that?"
