Chaotic42 - Yup... it's hard to have 5500 pirated mp3s that have decent sound quality too... Since I do all the ripping and encoding myself I get good sounding mp3s and never have to deal with the crap that's out there.... I would have more but I filled up the HD 🙂. We got about 1000 CD's here and I believe I've only done 550.

Yeah, my buddy has nearly 2,000 CDs. Some are doubles. I was being conservative 😉

I rip all of my CDs.

Chaotic42 - Nice... that will be time consuming to rip, eh? Are you going to have multiple machines doing it? It took me a couple months to do mine...

Hopefully we can just get a script to rip, encode, and name all of the songs. Just put in the CD and go.

I don't know how long it'll take, or if he'll want to do all of them. Should be fun though!

I used a script called ripit.pl in FreeBSD. I then wrote my own perl script to transfer all my mp3s to the file server and create the appropriate directories and everything... The last thing I did was write a perl script to index all the songs and create playlists for them which you can view here.

So it was as easy as putting in the CD and running one command. It was the switching of CD's that slowed me down 🙂

Zero loaded ATM. I do have illegal software, but only when the legit versions cost would prevent me from eating for a few months(like Exchange 2000).

i only have 2 programs that are legit (nero and mcaffee), but i got those for free....and eventually when i get it from that microsoft deal, win xp will be legit on my computer

Lots and lots and lots of porno....................................just kidding I delete mine when I'm... Ughhhh....done 😛

Seriously:

Dreamweaver
Paint SHop Pro
3D Mark 2001
Inachis E-Backup
Sygate Personal Firewall Pro

6,000 illegal MP3s 🙂

I bought my copies of Windows XP (home), Office 2000, Norton Antivirus, Serious Sam 1 & 2, and Quake III Arena.

I know there's a very small percentage of you that actually buy all your software. So, how many illicit copes do you have on there?

I have 2.

As often as we ban folks for attempting to sell Warez, we would think you are bright enough to not post something like this. This is sort of like shouting to a cop............. HEY!!!!I am drunk and going to drive my car on the highway.

Watchful Mod

ALL OF EM!!!! AAARRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!
