Ok, I've gotten bored of all the normal threads, i haven't seen a pet thread. What kind of animal do you have (siblings or messy roomates don't count unless you legally OWN them) and what makes them special, little personality quirks and stuff like that.

I got a little yorkshire terrier. He's kinda stupid but i like him. He closes his mouth and sticks his tongue out when he sleeps.
 
I have a Beagle... he's small for the breed and actually pretty low-key, which is unusual.
He's pretty damn cute, though, I'd link to pics but I haven't posted any of him yet. 🙂
 
i had a aggressive iguana called "iggy" for about 4 months. It never got tamed, it was scared of me just by sticking my hand in his @#$$@@ cage. That bastard. I returned it to the original owner, i hope she kills it. I had a picture, i'll repost one once i go home.....

Two ferrets, two dogs, and a cat. Ferrets are the coolest pets you can own if you're willing to sacrifice lots of time to play with them. One of them (the ferret, Calvin) jumps up and attacks one of the dogs and is now teaching the other one (Hobbes) to do it. It takes all of her willpower to not just snap them up. The other dog and cat live at my mom's house, but I still consider them "mine."
 
I have 5 cats, 1 dog thats loves to go out side and screw around with the neigborhood dogs. A goose that just hateched followed my GF's little brother home from school. Now its 3 about times the size of my cat and doens't know how to fly.
Had a hamster, ran away..or the cats ate it.
had another dog, ran away with her puppy after we gave a few away.
 
I have 2 cats.. One named aradia after the goddess, and she definately thinks she is above everyone. She will not even eat from the same dish as the other cat.. The other is named pugsley.. He had a bad habit as a kitten of taking off as fast as he could, and running his head straight into a wall. Then he would back up and do it again...and again...and...
 
Had a cat a few years ago.

One day i was waiting for him to cross the street from the creek, by my house, he got hit by a punk @ss driving about 50mph down a residential st.

The worst part was that he didn't die from the impact of the car. I ran over to him to see him twitching and trying to howl in pain. I knew he couldn't be helped so I had to kill my own cat. That was very hard for me to do 🙁

Haven't had a pet since. I have been think of getting a dog soon. I wasnt to name him either Triumph or dammit.
 
3 ferrets and 4 cats. The ferrets are notoriuos theives and will hide anything they find interesting. The cats are just plain crazy and I love em all 😛

Goonie (calico) is the craziest of them all though. She has this money fetish and will steal bills whenever she can grab them.
 
I've got a Mini-Dachshund (who thinks she's a big Pit Bull) and two fish tanks (100 gallon and 60 gallon)
 
2 cats. One from here in Oregon and the other moved with me from Hawaii. They dislike each other intensely, but must both sleep with me. Sometimes I have one on each arm of a chair in the livingroom. They sit on either side of me and pretend that they have no idea that the other one is there.
 
Probably unique to this board, we have an African pygmy hedgehog. She's a cute little critter and is working on about three and a half years old. She's fussy, and her quills can hurt like hell when she's in a bad mood. We love her dearly though! 😀
 
AndrewR: Cool you have a hedgehog! I've wanted one of those or a ferret for a long time, too bad both ferrets and hedgehogs are illegal to own in California. 🙁

Technically, hedgehogs are regulated in Georgia, too, and you're supposed to have an exotic pet license. Yeah, right! The People's Republic of California (PRC) does regulate more strictly, however, and has forbidden them.

It's actually quite friggin' stupid because hedgehogs are thoroughly domesticated and would die quite readily if released into the wild. I mean, she ate cat food for the first three years and now eats something that looks just like cat food but is formulated specifically for hogs. She gets cold and starts to hibernate when the temperature dips below 70 for any length of time. How long do you think she'd last outside of our apartment??

Further reinforces my opinion that people who make the laws are morons.

"my" dog. Imagine a dog a little bigger than a beatle with a beatle head and a rottweiler body. He's the sweetest thing though and loves people and food 😉

My mom's Miniature Horse. His name was Cowboy. I'm not sure if my mom renamed him. He eats dog food sometimes and is big buddies with Leah and our other Anatolian shepherd.

That's all the pics I have right now - we have 3 other dogs and a few cats.
 
i got two parrots, green fronted amazon and a grey parrot..i accidently stepped on my rabbit a couple of weeks ago, he died like two days ago :[ he was a cool rabbit, if only he didn't piss all the place.

That mini horse is way too cute, I want one now 😀

We have 2 cats (1 "mutt", 1 Maine my excellent compatriot cat- a very large fellow); 2 rats, 1 mouse... that's it now I gave away my fish.

My mom got it for free from an aquaintance. Apparently he's not up to breed standards, or they just needed to get rid of him or something.

Just a little pet dog. She's always asleep but i still love her. She's a mutt, one of her parents was volpino (a really furry dog), and unfortunately Yuki is not furry making her body look a little disproportioned.
 
2 Golden Retrievers....father and son, about 200 lbs of dog combined.

1 really weird cat (wife's).....was a stray, wish it would wander off again.

and 2 fish tanks (African Cichlids).......got a few breeders, but don't have time to mess with them too much anymore.
 
i have a chicken, she's pretty lonely, the other 4 died a year ago 🙁, she doesn't have a name, but she's been with us for almsot 2 years already 🙂
