Always wondered why they didn't expand the keyboard on the 17" power book...its the same size as the 15 with big ol' gaps on both sides...seems like they could have made it larger....

i voted 15" powerbook but on second thought, i'd go with the imac/ibook combo
...it's a much safer bet in case something happens to your laptop

i know a friend who lost his laptop at the airport, he had everything on it- research project, and other stuff... all gone

I have the 15" powerbook. IMO it's the posterchild for technological perfection.

12" is too small and 17" is just waaaaaaay too big.

Don't get the 15", it doesn't have the Airport Extreme and bluetooth and stuff that the 12 and 17" powerbooks have.

the keyboard is pretty darn comfy... and the speakers are there, so they're not blocked by your wrists or on the sides or something.

Don't really need fast computer, because you are not going to compile large amount of code, but a large screen & high res is a bonus.

Chances are you will need a Windows box to test out your code, therefore it is best to get an x86 machine & dual boot with Windows/Unix/Linux.

If you have the cash then get a Mac if you are gung ho on it because there is such thing as VMware.

If I had that money to spend on those computers, I would get the iBook and then built a desktop PC so you can have both platforms at your disposal and save some cash for unforseen expenses.
