You thinking education will suffer because unions will lose their strangle hold? That is your opinion which I presented reasons why I think it is false. But you didnt really address either or my points and decided to talk about shitty parents.

They are the Union so an attack on the Teacher's Union is an attack on them.

So point something out in the bill and try me.

Do you believe that a non-union teacher, who under the bill, pays no dues should get the same benefits as one who does. This bill makes that possible.

They shouldn't get benefits they aren't entitled to. They should start at a lower pay and not receive the benefits the union fought for.

Let the issue go on the ballot. If Ohio-ens want to be idiots and continue to get fleeced by unions, that's up to them.

Also, I'd guess that half those signatures are bogus or came from "hey sign here if you think people should have human rights!" type stuff. Either way, it's plenty to get on the ballot.

Lol, are you seriously advocating that unions should demand that the state treat workers unequally? That is golden.

Does a non-union shop get the same wages as a union shop? Nope, they're lower. So, if a employee choses not to join the union, fine, no problem. But don't expect the benefits the union fought for if you don't support it.

Can you name one bad thing about this bill which is to become Law today? I just highlighted the super awesome aspects of it.

For starters, here is one which you failed to mention, right from your article:

Workers would also be banned from striking.

No freedom of assemby for the lose. That's the freedom loving GOP for you.

Welcome to the real world where if you go on strike, you're fired. Just how it's supposed to work.

Huh? Its just like freedom of speech. You can say what you want, but you are not shielded from your employer not liking what you say and canning you.

You can peacefully assemble all you want. Assembling is not the same as striking. If you strike, you'll get canned. Sounds fine to me.

that's my new favorite word..... ENTITLED

At a recent festival in the small town i live in, there were literally 4 inch stacks of paper loaded with signatures for repealing senate bill 5.

It is HUGELY unpopular here. Not sure about other areas of the state.

It isn't just teachers, its all public employees. Everyone is taking massive hits in benefits. I know of a family that would lose $600/2 weeks because of the increase in contributions they have to make to their retirement and healthcare for their small family.

Austerity will run Ohio into the ground. It's already bad here.

Still waiting for anybody to point out what is bad about this bill.

How is "merit" defined and who decides who has merit and who doesn'?

If you get the merit raise one year can it be taken away the next year? Who would want to work under a pay system like that???

LOL, says who, a know it all little twerp?? People died getting the right to collectively bargain so get off your high horse.

So you think not showing up for work at the same time effectively shutting down the business and the worker should be able to keep his job? mind of a liberal right there.

And you think since people work at a place the employer can dictate pay, hours, and benifits without any input/negoiation from/with their employees? Mind of an asshat right there.

I negotiate all of that before taking the job, what are you talking about? If I don't like it, I don't have to work there. Mind of a liberal, where you are entitled to a job, with fabulous pay, benefits, etc. Free market forces be damned. Entitle that job even if it shuts the company down (like many unions have done recently).
