It is kinda steep, but I wouldn't call it a poseur machine. It's a pretty bad-ass bike in all ways (actually makes some HP, is actually water-cooled, actually handles well, and actually has some brakes). All things the previous H-D's couldn't claim.
There was a program on TLC or Discovery (forget which) detailing the development of this bike that was kinda neat. They and Porsche put an astounding amount of time into the V-Rod....it shows, I'd say.

That's true, the bike is revolutionary, for a Harley. It does nothing that any of the three big Jap cruisers can do for half the price. Hence, if people are buying the VRod purely for the "Harley" branding, it enforces my statement. 🙂
I never saw Harley road race, but I'm sure there was a reason they got out of it. 😉
