I am not sure it really happens "all the time," but I will have to give you the point regarding the neo-cons, at least in my case. I used to be a strong Republican supporter. GWB's administration convinced me enough was enough, and now I am independent. This doesn't mean I am a Democrat though -- I see both of these parties for what they are, which would be self-serving entities that really are in it for themselves, not the country.
Regardless of who gets elected, I do hope for the best for them and our country, as wishing ill will on them (as many of the tunnel-visioned partisans on both sides do in this forum) does nothing constructive.

If you want to base your support and voting habits on the actions of people 150 years ago, you're more than welcome to do so. It would be dumb, but that's your choice.
Since we're talking about the party that exists in the real world today, as my post was describing, it's completely accurate. There is a major political party in the US that has race baited black people and other minorities for about 5 decades now, but it isn't the Democrats. This is why minorities almost never vote for this unmentioned political party.
There are other reasons, and that is why the Dem party here has openly promised that it will not reform Medicaid in NY. If you try, then you are racist. It's a given. It's been attempted. The Dems count on it and the Reps fear the "baited black people" tag here in NY.
Pretty? No, but true. We never had more minorities voting than in the last Presidential election in Rochester. I was working in an inner city store, and know what the overwhelming reason for them selecting Obama? "He's black, so he's going to give me more stuff" Yeah, that's a literal quote echoed with small variations throughout the day.
Race is an interesting weapon, and here in NY the Dems know how to use it.
In the same token, I heard plenty of tri-state whites saying they wouldn't vote Obama bc he "chose his black side over his white side" and he couldn't be trusted. 0_o
I think it means there are just a lot of ill-informed voters not always motivated by rationality.

Ok. Obviously not so silent; I doubt the majority of people think Obama is actually a Nazi; and using their 15min of fame to make rambling, semi-coherent paranoid conspiracy theories, none of which make any contribution whatsoever to solving the problem of the exploding healthcare system and lack of health coverage for 10's of millions.
All the townhalls have really done is expose a very troubled and disturbing ideology at the core of some right-wing thinkers, little of which based on any sensibility.
There are plenty of rational criticisms to the plan to be made. The right isn't making any of them.

Funny thing is that he sent me what I believe was a hate PM because I have so vocally opposed him. I couldn't tell for sure if it was a hate tell, because the picture he linked to had already been deleted. Pretty comical sidenote, now back to your regular programming.

It was a link to a jpg on one of the image hosting sites, and it had already been deleted. I had to laugh at him because of it. The guy couldn't even manage to send me a coherent hate tell. LOL.

Go back to school and learn some history. 1930's socialism and communism were polar opposites.
Socialism is more an economic system that tries to expand and share the benefits of industrialization to as many people as possible. Communism is more a political system that tries to center power to as few people as possible, preferably one person. Communism, as originally envisioned by Marx, was the last stage of a socialist revolution.
Hilter hated the Communist Bolsheviks because they represented much of what he hated about the wealthy, privileged Jewish elite who he believed manipulated the German nation. In the early 1900's, Communism actually parallel many of the same political positions as today's American conservatives.
But Hitler was a psychopath that used his newly acquired dictatorial power to reverse "my struggle" from class to race, hence his self proclaimed destiny to lead a master race. A relatively benign national socialist ideology had quickly become overshadowed by a more evil authoritarian ideology - Nazi fascism.

No. It's a patriot owning a congressmen and putting him where he belongs - in shame and disgust. It's been circulating around our office since it broke out and whenever anybody sees it they have a swelling of pride and believe our country can be saved from this administration/congress.
Yea, he's in the military man! He a gun! And Grenades! He obviously knows about the inner workings of the healthcare industry than a simple weak congress man does!
